  1. Out on my bike definitely.
  2. No mass suicides yet then ?
  3. Well have a read of the previous posts in this thread, it comes from the food industry mostly cream dispensers. Here you are , 50p a go . http://i.imgur.com/dH99b4Y.png notice the free adapter? Why not just include the balloons and be done with it? Anyway to get back to my original point , its the fact that these discarded cylinders litter the roads thereby suggesting that people are taking this stuff WHILE DRIVING that concerns me a as a cyclist and motorcyclist. There's enough dozy bast*rds and druggies out there already without this nonsense.
  4. So what was the result ?
  5. Nothing to report yet , the guy who offered me the Hawk hasn't been seen for a while . As for the Aprillia I'm going to choose my moment to ask carefully. Just when the owner is counting the cost of Christmas is a good time , that's how I got the Zephyr so cheap I reckon.
  6. But that defeats the objective. Changing to just a random connector means if I or anyone else ever needs to replace or upgrade the light unit it will have the wrong connector. At least splicing into the cable means I can simply remove it and tape back over the splice, as I did to uninstall it from the 125. And are you saying it is definitely an OEM connector that cannot be bought or just assuming? If the former I will just go with a splice. Not my preference but it would be the best way to retain stock condition, and is the "correct" way of installing the kit after all. I checked the three-pin ones but none appear to have those two centred connectors underneath the female pins. Mind, it does not help their photos are all from above, so any in which the pins are set back are obscured by the socket casing. I have now joined a bike specific site though, so hopefully someone there will recognize them. Ok, last try, how's about buying 3 non stock connectors and putting one set under the seat in a little bag with an explanatory note and some complimentary heat shrink tubing ?
  7. Nobody is suggesting that you do a nasty lash up with tape. What we are suggesting is that because you have failed to find another male and female connector identical to those on the bike, you simply replace it. Then you can build your splitter between another pair of the same connectors and simply plug it in . When you sell the bike , unplug the splitter and re connect what remains . You probably won't find the connector you are looking for because both halves are integral parts of a Honda wiring loom and are not sold as DIY components . What you need is access to wander around an old fashioned scrap yard full of Honda cars armed with a pair of snips but health and safety and ebay have probably put paid to that.
  8. My point exactly but better put.
  9. Have you browsed either the Maplins or RS catalogues ? I've had a look and there are dozens of automotive 3 pin connectors of similar quality and appearance that come in kit form . So you could simply get the soldering iron out and fit a different one. For example http://i.imgur.com/bwfmI0u.png
  10. I thought it was a strange foreign fruit Did you make a pavlova with it? I thought you were joking then I found this http://i.imgur.com/7QWGvmi.png
  11. Ahhh, white dog shit , those were happier times.
  12. Hats off to you sir ! If only others were so diligent. As previously mentioned there is a particular area of the otherwise lovely Malvern Hills that is festooned with these obnoxious parcels. Perhaps it is the foul doings of one man ( and his dog )
  13. Well I've heard the expression" You can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter" but this just seems a bit fiddly especially on a cold day .
  14. Oh the horror! Not middle class living rooms !http://i.imgur.com/rZmvcqv.png
  15. I'll remember to get some next time I do the Hebrides http://i.imgur.com/ysfR6HI.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/xCH3Lcr.jpg just boring old CO2 though.
  16. I've discovered why they exist at all . Their proper use is as propellant in the squirty cream dispensers used by the likes of Starbucks to adorn their over priced coffee or in restaurants to produce foam . N2O is in the squirty cream sold in supermarkets as well.
  17. Good theory but I don't think so . There's just too many of them especially in " urban " areas.
  18. Has anyone noticed the recent appearance of small metal gas canisters that seem to have been discarded on the roads ? You might not spot them when travelling by car or motorcycle but when I'm out cycling I see loads of them . At first I didn't know what they were and I wrongly assumed that they were connected to vaping . Eventually I discovered that in fact these things contain nitrous oxide or laughing gas that people are inhaling to get a buzz . Well each to their own BUT here's the thing , if these cylinders are to be found mostly on the road does this mean that people are snorting this stuff while driving ? I bloody hope not . Perhaps someone can shed more light on this matter.
  19. I do know what you mean, the thick woman in my work canteen wouldn't take Scottish money. I used to love having a big wad of Scottish one pound notes . Unfortunately she is within her rights to refuse. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/scottish-bank-notes-legal-tender-13717631 Years ago in Leamington M&S and House of Frasier were about the only places that would accept them. Well well , you learn something new every day.
  20. There wouldn't be much in it on the south bound side . Thats because you pretend Scottish money is not legal tender. I do know what you mean, the thick woman in my work canteen wouldn't take Scottish money. I used to love having a big wad of Scottish one pound notes .

  22. Oh yes! That's how I knew what to do with rear brake, fork seals need to be done as well so watched through those and so simple! (apart from his 3 hours separating them, really hope I don't have that much grief with mine). Really split 50/50 atm if I should do a full strip down and restore or just get it back into reasonable condition. Well I never really intended to do mine up beyond making it reliable and road worthy but it kind of grew on me . Have a look at my post in Readers Rides entitled my ER5 winter project. Forget what the critics say , this is a great little bike once you iron all the bugs out. Mine has reintroduced me to a more comfortable laid back style of biking and is the main reason I'm looking to sell my GSXR and get a Harley next year.
  23. Brilliant, have you discovered Pony Power aka Matt and his amazingly good series of ER5 restoration videos on YouTube ? These are an absolute must see for anyone doing up an ER5. Enjoy.
  24. Well at least it isn't still dangling there a year later .
  25. Well said indeed ! It's like saying you've got to buy it or else .
