  1. So you finished it then . Looks great . I've still got mine . Just can't get round to selling it . Somewhere in the back of my mind lurks the crazy notion to go touring the outer Hebrides on it because I don't fancy the idea of taking the precious Harley on the ferries . There's a lot of back to basics fun to be had coaxing the maximum performance from a smaller bike .
  2. Nothing wrong with Tokico 6 pots if they are properly maintained . But yes , they are a pain in the arse .
  3. I was about to agree with this then I noticed that I wrote it .
  4. 'Kin 'ell ! That's fantastic . We've definitely got to have a meet up next summer . Beautiful bike and it's the same engine size too . What a find .
  5. I wouldn't let my neighbour anywhere near my bike . What an odd reply . Solve a problem by giving it to someone else ? Not my style .
  6. So I got togged up for a quick ride around the lanes on this very pleasant Sunday afternoon and Ker Chunck , Ker Chunck , click click click .....F**k all ! Dead as a door nail . This is probably the battery terminals rather than the battery but I won't know for now because the single screw that holds the battery cover is already chewed up beyond practical use . Spent the last hour modifying screwdrivers with a Dremel but to no avail . I haven't worked out what to do yet because it's not accessible to any tools . Not a great end to the season .
  7. All in all not a bad biking summer considering I was still recovering from broken ribs and associated ailments . The highlights were touring Scotland in a week of perfect weather and taking part in Coventry Motofest . Apart from a broken throttle cable , all I did to the bike was put petrol in it and polish it . What's every one else been up to ?

    Moths .

Sounds like they are everywhere then .

    Moths .

Well I've been riding for a year or two but never have I seen anything like this before . My helmet and the front of the bike are plastered in tiny white smudges that suggests I have been bombarded by tiny moths . Either I rode through a swarm of these things or they are everywhere . Weird or what ?
  10. Ahh , thanks everyone . I must try to be more active on here but the lure of Facebook is strong .
  11. Rubbish weather ? We're in a heatwave in Coventry .
  12. How did you know I was at the Shuttleworth Collection ?
  13. Well I think Ian guessed it . It's a Bond . Same company that made various three wheelers including the Bond Bug .
  14. When you think you have seen everything and then you happen upon this curiosity . Anyone want to guess the make ?
  15. You get Midges in Glasgow Central Station if the conditions are not favourable .
  16. Somewhere north of Ullapool .
  17. Well I'll just hold up my hand and admit to my hypocrisy . I've got up early this morning and , try as I might I just can't summon the will to ride 60+ miles on the A14 among all the Saturday crazies on a dull day to meet a handful of folk that I don't really know . Have a wonderful time everyone who does attend .
  18. I think you may have missed the point . I was merely contrasting the attendance with the apparent size of the forum . Here is the 2018 Rideout .
  19. Yeah , I'm popping in on the Saturday . It's worth mentioning that this will be the most boring ride imaginable , M6 , A14 all the way . Go be honest , I'm rather disappointed myself that a forum of this apparent size can only muster a handful of members who are prepared to attend a National Rally . Have any of these people even got motorcycles ?
  20. Where are you planning to have breakfast Ian ?
  21. Ok , I'll get up early . Were not going to end up strung out all over the landscape on single track roads like last time are we ?
  22. Weather is looking good . I'll probably pop in on Saturday morning and have some lunch unless anyone can suggest a better time .
  23. How times have changed . I remember when we went to a rally to roll in mud and wore the same clothes next weekend .
  24. Just went out and rode mine around Warwickshire ( HS2 permitting ) A lovely warm, dry evening with very little traffic . Just me and the big , beautiful Harley . Never looked down at the dash once , just riding by feel and sound and changing gear occasionally more for something to do than anything else . I'm really dialled into this bike now and loving every mile of it . ( Thanks again Ian ) Another bonus is that wherever I stop , there's always something beautiful to look at . My bike .
  25. For this to happen , something pretty nasty must be lurking behind the inner basket ..
