  1. You'd be surprised how many people use them as daily commuters without even cleaning them . It's not all about customizing and chrome . Plenty of sub £4000 bikes out there but prices are rising now that production has ceased .
  2. Phoned an MOT station that I haven't used before , asked whether they MOT Harleys with really loud pipes , the guy said " I bet it's not as loud as mine " Right you are then , see you Friday morning ! Sorted .
  3. Now that does look like a good piece of kit . I bought something vaguely similar which was utterly useless . That thing , on the other hand , with it's spring and serrations looks like it means business . Having said all that , have you considered a K&N with a nut on the end ?
  4. You definitely need to start saving for a Harley Davidson Sportster now . A guy of your stature on a ZZR 600 is asking for trouble . You've only got to sneeze and your speeding .
  5. Just spotted this . Whatever gave you that idea ?
  6. The Kawasaki ER5 would be an ideal upgrade from a 125 . Scruffy ones start at £400 and good ones go for £800 - £1200 . They are not particularly exciting but they can do anything a motorcycle is meant to do . I'm on my second one .
  7. To my method of thinking that's in the middle . There's a long rod and a short rod with a ball in-between the two .
  8. The rod is two piece and yes , it does have a ball in the middle .
  9. Because someone put aftermarket springs in of a different length , that's all . I've never known such wild speculation about one motorcycle .
  10. Try riding a GSX 1100 from Coventry to Scotland . You'll find out where your Carpel Tunnel is situated just as you pass Manchester .
  11. So when you put standard springs in it will be easier for her to operate . Unless you have ordered an EBC kit that has HD springs .
  12. Heavy duty springs are no more likely to cause sticking than normal ones . I had heavy duty in the GSXR to compliment the racing clutch kit and I've even got 15% stronger spring and an Energy One Extra Plate Clutch Kit in the Harley . Mind you , I do have a Muller Power Clutch actuator as well .
  13. Well yes , but there will be less slippage when you give it death .
  14. As far as that ? Haaaay !
  15. Heavier duty springs .
  16. They don't stretch , they compress .
  17. Looks like it's aimed squarely at the beard oil and brown boots brigade .
  18. First things first .
  19. Not the worst case but the first thing I would do . If it's stuck you could rip off the friction plates and they would end up in the sump .
  20. An electric clutch ? What are you guys on ? Based on past events , wouldn't be a good idea to just read the manual and figure it all out for yourself ? Otherwise you will repeat the same process of pointless conjecture and wishful thinking when all you need to do is open up the clutch and have a look . Oh and all those decades of chainlube under the cover . The best cleaner you could use is petrol , trust me , nothing else comes close .
  21. £20 for a strap ? And why is it waxed cotton ! Surely that's just going attract dirt which will rub off on your shoulder ? At the end of the day it's just a strap .
  22. Probably an idea to sell it before the next oil filter change .
  23. Disconnected from my £ 17.99 Automatic Trickle Charger , Drained the carb and filled it with fresh fuel , hit the button and she erupted into thunderous life for another summer .
  24. Go back and have a look . It might be that the road is rutted due to heavy use .
  25. Dosen't make sense to me . How high do you think a motorcycle seat is ? The Honda Rebel is so low you could trip over it .
