  1. Well if you had been a lot more specific about exactly what you wanted from this meeting you might have received a more helpful response . I wish you every success with your return to biking and on behalf of the forum I extend the hand of fellowship . Just be aware that sarcastic and less than appropriate banter is generally accepted as polite conversation in motorcycling circles and that no offence was intended .
  2. A bit dramatic but that would work . I just use a small abrasive wheel on a standard drill to grind the heads off the soft rivets . Then , with the link positioned on the rear sprocket , I just get a big flat screwdriver and a hammer and wedge it behind the side plate . A couple of whacks and job done .
  3. I have a much better rivetting tool than that one that you are welcome to borrow .
  4. They sold lexmoto bikes a few years ago .
  5. Happy birthday mate .
  6. Yeah , that works for me . I would probably go via Southam because that's a nice run from Coventry .
  7. I'm all for DIY , DIY motorcycle maintenance . My flat is so decrepit that if I tried to fix it up it would probably fall down . I think the wallpaper is holding it together .
  8. That sounds good to me . I don't know if you're aware , but I don't drink . Not that I would when I was driving anyway . I was going to suggest the Castle pub on Edge Hill but it looks like the garden has been turned into an outdoor restaurant with booking required . Shame . There's the Wharf near Fenny Compton . Never actually been there but it has a garden and carpark . If there's anything nearer your way I don't mind putting in the miles .
  9. Lovely
  10. Anyone fancy a chat about motorbikes on this DIY projects forum ?
  11. I very much doubt that you could buy the same helmet twice running because it would have been superceded by the latest model . You could certainly buy the same brand if the characteristics suit the shape of your head though .
  12. I'm thinking along the same lines as Six ( Without the unfiltered deviancy ) If someone is seriously expecting one of us to meet them in a deserted car park in an undisclosed location so that they can have a go on one of our bikes , they might be underestimating our intelligence . No response from the OP as usual .
  13. An hour in a car park doing what exactly ? A little more information would be most helpful . For example , I'm assuming that you have a bike so how are you going to get there ? And where do you live ?
  14. Ahh , the traditional food of Scotland . This is the sight that greets you as you enter Gretna Services . All the supplies you need for a week's stay . I've set off on many a ride fuelled by strong coffee and a few Caramel Wafers .
  15. Nothing against Vegans but why in the name of sanity do the pasty faced , self righteous , lefty pricks have to eat imitation meat ?
  16. Actually I rather enjoyed it . I had a pie , that was rather ordinary , and some Bovril . It was a floodlit , Boxing Day match in which Coventry City beat Arsenal 3 - 2 . I must have sensed that it would never get better than that , apart from when they won the FA Cup , because I never went again . The information below is actually incorrect . It was at Highfield road .
  17. I went to a football match . Once ..
  18. Your point about the WIDTH of the seat makes great sense . I'd never thought of the issue like that before .
  19. Probably best to have a plan B . It's snowing in Coventry .
  20. Well spotted . This bike was heavily modified using an earlier tank , side panels , tail and seat .
  21. I honestly can't remember what the arrangement was on my Z 1000 ST .
  22. In all my years both as a bike owner and as a parts and accessories salesman , I have never encountered or heard of an exhaust system that interferes with the removal of the oil filter . Purely out of curiosity , do you have any idea what make this thing is ?
  23. It was a brown Hillman Hunter and it was down the runway at Long Marston on a rainy Sunday morning at the first ever Bulldog Bash . I was off my tits at the time .
  24. I'm sure all here will join me in extending heartfelt condolences to her Majesty the Queen on this very sad day .
