  1. Have I missed something here ? What test are you doing ?
  2. Cheers mate , you know I'm only pulling your chain ( Rather than my maintenance free Belt Drive ) I know that one glorious day you will see the light .
  3. I've tried the carrot approach enough times .
  4. I've tried my best .
  5. Facebook is your friend here . Clubs are very much a thing of the past now . What bike and what area ?
  6. I keep looking at the sunshine but I wish the air would warm up .
  7. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-ZZR600d-90-92-Breaking-Full-Bike-Spares-Parts-/324401609667?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
  8. When you can't get enough of looking at your bike , you know that you have made the right choice .
  9. I do miss the appearance of a nice chain but not the expense and the hassle .
  10. It's one possible explanation .
  11. I fitted a 630 chain to my old GSX 1100 ET . The chain came supplied with a spring link so I fitted it . ( Correctly ) after about 600 miles I was cleaning the bike and I noticed it wasn't there anymore ! Luckily the side plate was an interference fit so it hadn't come off . More worryingly still , when I removed the sprocket cover I found a shattered piece of the spring link lying among the chain lube . Whatever forces caused this to happen have always remained beyond my imagination or understanding .
  12. Adjusted the clutch . A strange procedure on a Harley Sportster . First you have to jack the bike up on a lift so that it is upright otherwise the Primary Chain Case oil will spill out . Then you take one bolt out of the colossal hunk of iron that is the foot peg hanger so that it pivots downwards . Using 1/2" and 9/16" spanners you slacken off the clutch cable before removing all six bolts that hold the Derby Cover in place . Next you pluck out the spring and Jam Plate so that you can adjust the Pull Rod anticlockwise until resistance is felt before backing it off a quarter turn , or in my case an eighth of a turn because I have a Muller Power Clutch actuator fitted . Replace the jam nut and spring and carefully reposition the Derby Cover . Bolt it all up again and adjust the cable so that there is a " Dime " of free play at the lever . There is quite a bit to be said for hydraulic clutches .
  13. The changes to the law started right here . I wonder how many kids had already died when these carefully chosen words were written . A hundred plus miles an hour on L plates was never going to end well .
  14. Once again the scowling sock puppet has been caught without a script .

  15. As soon as you have learned to ride , get a big bank loan and buy your ultimate dream bike right NOW . You've got little over ten years to enjoy it before they turn off the petrol .
  16. Yep , I've got one . Do you remember where I live ?
  17. I'll dig it out . It's actually from under the tank on an ER5 but the part number cross references to the centre stand stop . No reason to believe it wouldn't also fit a ZZR .
  18. I've probably got one of those .
  19. I know that road . Sometimes I like to sit and watch the gliders coming in to land .
  20. What would anyone do to their bike on a beautiful day like today ? Ride it of course ! I put in 80 miles all around Warwickshire this afternoon . Perfect weather , Spring blossom everywhere , greenery sprouting from every hedgerow . Marvelous ! Pictures ? Nah , I just couldn't bring myself to stop the bike .
  21. It's a Vernier Caliper . I wouldn't worry about it . As long as those rivets are marginally bigger than the hole they pass through , the job's a good un .
  22. I think you might want to check that the side plate is parallel to the rest of the chain . Maybe it's the photo but the left hand rivet appears to protrude a little more than the right hand one .
  23. Are you sure you're not confusing me with Extreme ? I have been known to be a bit direct especially when someone's first post is asking how to start a bike without keys but I don't think I've been too unwelcoming .
  24. Looks very good . Proves a point that I've often made that Chinese stuff is much better than expected . I still can't believe I got two full carb rebuild kits including floats and diaphragms for £8.00 !
