I went to a Forum Rally . If I'm honest I was a bit dismayed at the woefully small attendance . I was equally baffled by the ride out that consisted of ten or so bikes desperately trying to keep up with Stu and myself down some of the bumpiest little lanes in Shropshire . Within minutes the whole convoy was strung out all over the place . We even ended up on a single track road at one point . Sorry if I sound as if I'm having a go Stu but we all had fast sports tourers and we were a stone's throw from some great roads around Clee Hill . I realize that only a tiny minority of members are actually active but I really was expecting something a little grander in scale .

I'm East of Brum and I haven't seen a flake .

What's the mileage ?

Maybe we're blurring the lines between touring and long distance riding . The point of touring for me is to find the best roads with the most stunning views and enjoy every mile . Speed and power can actually become a dangerous encumbrance once you are in amongst unfamiliar twistys . Faired , naked , cruiser , commuter , whatever . It makes no difference to me .

With some skilful and strenuous rearranging of my landlords collection of junk , I now have room for the Triumph .

Looks pretty earthbound to me . I did go fully airborne on a GS850 once when I took a canal bridge far too quickly .

Couldn't agree more . Getting shredded occasionally is all part of living with a cat .

Excellent advice so far . My only question is , what kind of Garage fails to diagnose a simple case of non running on a single cylinder bike given five attempts ? I hope they aren't charging money for this non existent service .

Wow ! Thank you all very much for this award . It really does mean a lot to me . I'm particularly honoured because I haven't been as active recently as I'd like to be due to a wicked bout of anxiety and depression . Happily I'm over it now but this has given me a tremendous and most welcome boost . Something that really sustained me during this horrible year was reading all your astonishingly honest responses to my " How are you feeling " post . So thank you to everyone who contributed and I hope you all got as much out of it as I did . Have a great Christmas and thank you all once again .

How on earth did this get on to tyres ?

The front / back one should have gone on the back and the front only one should have gone on the front . Just get them to swap them round and ask for a percentage refund for your inconvenience . And don't go there again . I always check now before leaving the tyre fitters because different Harleys have the disk and sprocket ( Pulley ) on opposite sides . Same with some Triumphs I believe .
