  1. have you checked the fuses ? Have you checked the bulbs? if all lights are out it will more than likely be a loose connector around the headstock area where the power is split to all relevant areas
  2. if you place lights higher up than your manufacturers light ...you run the risk of other road users using that for information .... ie how many times have you been caught out by someone braking but because their high level brake light didnt work ? motorcycle topboxes have a large red reflector around them that a lot of motorists focus on thinking it is a light source and miss the actual tail lights for information if you have seperate flashing lights will they distract away Hivis gives all round visual whilst red lights only gives rear . Flashing white is a recipe for people mistaking your attempts to signify your presence as a signal to continue . get either a oxford waistcoat or a sam brown style belt . or hi vis tape on the bike in strategic places ...

  8. if i remember correctly the first plate has to be in a different alignment to the rest ie look at the image the tang of first plate is not in alignment with the rest But it slides in the same slot in the basket so it has no choice other than to align with all the rest . i got my ends mixed up ( would be the last plate ) is how they should be .. the top plate is offset by one slot is how most install
  9. if i remember correctly the first plate has to be in a different alignment to the rest ie look at the image the tang of first plate is not in alignment with the rest
  10. have the plates been installed correctly . if i remember there is a specific pattern on the zeds that most installers get it wrong a few times . is it cable clutch or Hydraulic ? i thimk i saw you mention clutch adjuster but wanted to make sure as they hydraulic ones can have issues with the slave cylinder seal leaking slightly which once warm/ used a few times after cold seals up till next time
  11. Scrumplers just fffing get on with life. Just don't ask for a jumpstart ....
  12. Lithium batteries are not the issue as such it is the lack of electronic failsafes connected to the batteries that cause the damage .ie overcharging , cut offs . used to race model vehicles with lipo batteries which in early days had no protection circuits and you had to be very critical in timimg charges and use fire retention charging bags . these days they are protected when constructed by reputable companies but you still see devices come from china really cheap on ebay where the instructions always state .... "Only charge for x time do not allow this to be exceeded .No warranty if overcharged " as they have no cut off. lead acid batteries ... i carry the scars from having these explode 1 a bus depot workshop i worked in ..their charging room exploded and mixed in with the brick debris etc was sulphuric acid. 2A jcb battery exploded as i was a few feet away from the vehicle . acid in hair , face and arms . Thankfully a tap was within a few feet
  13. er but we have a system of wiring that can burst into flames, various fuel delivery systems that can leak fuel onto hot surfaces not mentioning the main item that is powered by an explosion ...all of these live under your prized possesions ... lithium batteries are leaps and bounds on their volatile ancestors and if you buy a cheap imported battery powered item .. they are not tested to the same extent or have the failsafes .

When he was doing a project on the Titanic a couple of years ago he asked me what the song was that the band played as it sank. His teacher wasn't very amused when he read 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On' in his exercise book... Thought it was . There's a hole in my bucket
  15. have you overtightened the torque arm bolt ..? try slackening this off and apply brake ( test it stationary )
  16. he can ride a 50cc moped without l plates and take a passenger but if he wants to ride a 125cc he needs to follow the relevant flow chart for a1 motorcycle routes-to-your-motorcycle-licence.pdf or for larger bike ( cat a )

  18. i would personally go more towards sidecar design . even though your in an external environment that with modern means ..You can Heat, cool illuminate and monitor the trailer The design of most motorcycles the exhaust is direct to the rear you may fill the trailer with fumes whilst in traffic etc
  19. Right, gotcha, now just tell me what that has to do with motorbikes, all very obscure, on second thoughts, no, don't tell me, I'm losing the will to live. What anyone would do with this data is beyond my comprehension. work out who's hand is safer to shake ....or if its cheap folded paper .. whos finger not to smell
  20. can you highlight that section of highway code for me please ? and the location of that road in question
  21. lessons learnt . indicator flashing means one thing and one thing only ... The bulb works ... speed limits .. Some examiners will allow for a speed infraction going into a limit change AS LONG as its reacted to by the first repeater ..ie obscured limit change sign due to foliage , large vehicles etc and you then see repeater and adjust speed accordingly but this mainly applied for limit increases as other factors come into play for 30 & 20 ie street lighting and road humps . The examiner has to justify in that brief time your have the ability to Be SAFE not just for yourself but everyone else and to Be Legal ..Any breach of those factors then raises the likelyhood of failure .
  22. have storm 2 on the gtr ... 6500mls so far and still shed loads left ..happily take it to the edge of tyre in the wet
