  1. Went to this tonight, it was alright with a small barbecue selling burgers for £2.50 and maybe 40 bikes in total with people always coming and going. I've certainly been to smaller meets but I can't shake the comparison to how it used to be..
  2. Have you considered one of those back-to-biking training courses? Hinckley Rider Training Scheme run such a course, perhaps they could let you try a small bike and then a bigger one?
  3. M&P are also included in the ebay sale, I've just bought myself 4L of Motul 7100 10w60 and a 160/60-17 Contimotion for a smidge over £100 when it would have normally been £130. This sort of stuff doesn't often get discounted..
  4. How rotten is the exhaust?
  5. Doesn't look new to me, could've happened at the factory??
  6. I went too, the weather was better than forecast but it was only maybe slightly busier than it was back in July, I was slightly disappointed. Still, it were alright, I mean I got to see an amazingly rare piece of Japanese exotica! I got there at about 8PM, it looked to be in full swing.. I do like these. Sounded a bit boring pulling away though? This CCM was interesting though again managed to sound pretty boring?? Got a first aid demonstration thrown into the mix too: Overall it's ok but it's lacking something, maybe needs a live band or something like that? It's all just a bit quiet.
  7. I did think it strange that 1250 wasn't mentioned, dangit. Satire is based on truth though, how long before this becomes reality?? Actually looks like Wunderlich had a go..
  8. I do currently hope to be there, forecast so far looks nice for the evening. Probably be on the (t)rusty Kawasaki though due to rain in the morning..
  9. So as far as I can tell they've stuck a dynamo in the front wheel hub?
  10. Are the plug caps on properly? Are the new plugs tightened all the way in? Is there any evidence of arcing around the plugs?

So, hang on, did you get to Skye?
  12. Do you still have the bits that have broken off or are they lost forever?
  13. Nah I see now, pretty sure it's this guy and it's an import from, err, unspecified.. Looking at the youtube clip it is single carb so sadly that makes troubleshooting slightly more difficult. I'd still start with the tap..
  14. Or rust from the inside of the tank - does it work any better with the tap on reserve? Emptying the float bowls could also have sucked shmoo into the jets/emulsion tube. Is the bike single or twin carb? I have to ask because there is no such thing as a CD125T from 1995..

Hope you do manage to get round Skye bob, I went a few years ago and followed the A87 all the way to Uig and then followed the road all the way round clockwise back to Portree, considering I was camped in Roybridge (just a bit north from Fort William) and had to use the A87 to get there and back it was one of the best day's riding I've ever had. That was in April though, I hear it's a lot busier in summer. I hear the west side is excellent as well, I'll be back to check it out at some point.
  16. You could try starting it from stone cold and leaving it to idle for around 10 minutes, this can allow the ECU to (attempt to) set itself up for a new exhaust/rotten original exhaust/blocked air filter etc. and may provide a bit of a fix for your problem.
  17. I use a strip of paper and fold it at the right measurement, keep dipping until it touches oil If you keep the forks in the yokes then you also know they're both at the same angle, I find this easier than having them loose and faffing about trying to hold them upright.
  18. You can run it a little low, you certainly wouldn't be the first person to have ever done that. You can also top it up, if you know what the "air gap" should be then this is easy - collapse the fork as much as you can and measure the distance from the top of the stanchion down to where the oil is, and fill it until you have the correct distance. If you don't know what the air gap should be then you're stuffed, maybe just put a few slugs of oil in and see how it goes or empty it completely and refill with the correct amount.
  19. Heh.. Maybe try again on July 10th eh?
  20. Same, but I also wear overtrousers over my bike trousers (goretex ex-army ones can be had for £15 off ebay) because some water always seems to get inside the suit and then soaks straight into my bum. With the extra waterproof layer this doesn't happen, bliss! Also the suit is useful to keep the biting cold off in the winter, if it keeps the rain off it also keeps the wind off..
  21. I did read up a bit on those pink All Balls seals a while back, people reckon the 3 lips offer no benefit over 2 lips and only add more "stiction" but no reports from people who'd actually used them. Personally I only fit NOK seals, they are what the Big Four in Japan all seem to use and are utterly brilliant/resilient. NAK are supposed to be good too, I have heard good reports (but not long term reports!) of SKF seals also, Nikone and Athena are to be avoided as are any other single lipped seals.
  22. I actually feel bad for Daventry, this is probably one of the biggest things that happens there and they chose a day when boats would be more use than bikes.. I don't suppose they've managed to postpone it until tomorrow instead?
  23. I would've thought Lizzie would've been more of a Viscount gal, y'know something with a bit more social standing..?
  24. I have heard of this, apparently it's almost entirely old duffers with nowt else to do on a weekday morning but some very interesting machinery turns up and of course the owners are full of tall tales. I'll definitely try and make it one time if I can.
  25. I'd have unpuncturable tyres in a shot, I'm so fed up of punctures by now. I reckon we'll see them in rallying first though, those guys really are held back by punctures on a regular basis and if a manufacturer gets rid of that then I'm sure the rest would follow.
