    Roadworks

Loads going on round me now. Mainly utility. But had three different roads closed for resurfacing. Last week I had six sets of roadworks on the right mile road to work. And the road to work is closed again tomorrow with a five mile diversion.
  2. Most 50 and 80cc bikes share a similar engine base. It shouldn't be too difficult to bore out the cases to take the 80cc cylinder. If you really wanted. It depends on how much of a project you want. It looks like the KSR used a variety of engines. Liquid cooled, air cooled, and even a four stroke. The four stroke would be the easy option as loads of different displacement available. There are quite a few gag bikes that are 80cc. It would make more sense just to buy one if you need more power.
  3. A shame, but that CBX is not likely to be ridden.
  4. Definitely. If you can loose your temper so badly that you can do that. You shouldn't be driving ever again.
  5. This was in March, but goes to show what can happen on the roads. A guy rammed a biker off a bridge. https://news.sky.com/video/share-13097576 This is why I just let the crazy idiots go. When they cut you up. I don't know what led to this altercation. But it's not worth the risk.
  6. What is it you are trying to secure? Tank bag? Tail pack?
  7. Yeah prices are silly now. If you are doing up a bike it doesn't make sense. Tyres, chain and sprockets. Few other consumable bits, make it well over what it's value is.
  8. That's a shame. I know lots of us would love to have an old favourite bike back.
  9. I think it was Euro 4, in 2018 it changed.
  10. It was done this way to avoid having to fit ABS. It became mandatory for ABS, or a combined braking system to be fitted. This is the cheaper option that a lot of Chinese manufacturers opted for.
  11. That sounds like quite an adventure every day.
  12. You have to wear a balaclava and carry a big pointy stabby thing to ride one. At least round here.
  13. Welcome to the forum. Great roads. Great bike.
  14. Some of those torque figures are crazy. I would need a very long extension bar.
  15. A lot of the dispatch riders used to swear by sheep's skin to go on the saddle, before we had air bags.
  16. Don't fit a short end can as I have seen a couple of exhausts melt the rear section on a hornet. If you ever cut up a standard hornet exhaust. You won't believe how it snakes about inside the outer sleeve. That's why it's so quiet, and weighs a ton. I had the Mivv x cone on my hornet. Not too loud with the baffle in. Its very compact and light compared to the original.
  17. Does it turn over with the switch, or is it slow when it does? The starter motor needs quite a bit of voltage. So check the cable connections are clean and free of corrosion.
  18. A rather pleasant surprise.
  19. Changed the head stock bearings. It's one job i hate doing. Loads of waterproof grease was used. So hopefully won't need to do it again.
  20. I used to run smaller plates and loud exhausts years ago. It's not worth the hassle now. That and I got old!
  21. I'm sure your car licence can be used as a provisional licence still. But you must do a CBT every two years to keep it current. You should have been doing this anyway. As from the 90's you needed a CBT to ride a 125cc bike.
  22. Been watching him for years. He never used to be so sweary. He was very erratic in when he released videos. But seems to be making an effort to do more regular content now. A very knowledgeable guy.

    Triumph 400

It's not so much what triumph can do. It's more of a case of what the licence will do. Even the KTM 390 can't make the full 47bhp, as it's too light. It's built to conform to licencing regulations, and be sold in india. So job done as far as Triumph are concerned. It's a really competitive market now in the 400cc range. But i think Triumph will do well with this.
  24. I think you have to remember that their biggest market is India. What most people want from a bike there is very different to the average UK rider. Poor roads and bad fuel, mean outright horse power is not so important. This also happily coincides with the A2 market in Europe.

    Vonnie

Hard starting could be the valves need adjusting. I have heard of Chinese bikes coming from the factory with them not adjusted correctly. It's not a hard job to do on the GY6 platform.
