  1. Been using my Nolan for a week now. I'm liking the wider field of view compared to my Arai. It's a lot quieter too. Which is nice. It seems to pinch the frame of my glasses against my right ear for some reason. Though it's getting better. I would still prefer a double D style chin strap. But I'm getting used to it.
  2. You might need to align the front forks again. It's not hard to do. I'm sure there are videos on YouTube. I hope you are okay?
  3. And the cretin had the cheak to say he was smoking that copper.
  4. Yeah he had just brought that bike too! Not wearing a helmet, and thinking the police wouldn't chase him.
  5. That's a loss for BMW then.
  6. Yes that is very true unfortunately.
  7. That was a near thing. Some insurance companies do like to make things difficult. My brother had a similar thing in his car insurance. It was all done online. He received the documents in his inbox. But the proof of insurance went to the spam folder.
  8. Hey, the Aussies seem to like it here.
  9. You can get an online copy here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/806837/Yamaha-Xt660r-S.html?page=5#manual Perhaps just print off the pages you need. But it is nice owning a physical copy.
  10. It really is just a matter of practice, practice, practice. You will get there. Just go at a pace you feel comfortable with. Everyone learns things at a different rate. So don't feel like you you should be pushing yourself too much.
  11. Yes I'm pretty sure Iran wouldn't be on the government list of safe countries to visit. So you have to go knowing you could be at possible risk. My mate toured some of the worst parts of Africa in the 80's when it was a very dangerous place even for locals. It turned out okay. But he came back with some scary stories. I guess it's something that you have to want to experience.
  12. I have three different torque wrench. But for most bike stuff a Draper 3/8 one like I have will do most stuff.
  13. Most people would rather have the original. Even if the copy is fitted to the bike, and original is sold with the bike. Original fairing are getting very hard to find.
  14. Nice work. It's a great feeling when you fix it yourself.

Welcome to the forum John. That's a dream garage right there.
  16. Simply bearings will supply all different grades of bearings. I've used them in the past. But I would be looking at a refund if not Koyo, or SKF. You want at least an equivalent to what you ordered.

To check the engine timing you would usually remove the bottom cover circled. This will have a mark for top dead centre on. The bigger one underneath that is for turning the engine to the right place. And you would need to take the cylinder head cover off to check the timing marks on the cam.

    What bike is it?
  19. Very nice indeed. I've always liked the big thumpers.
  20. Just because you have been away awhile. Doesn't mean you can spam post the forum to get you post count up. Don't you love technology?
  21. If you wanted to go up to a 70 section on the back wheel. I just got these for my son and he loves them. So much better than the stock tyres on his yamaha. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/pirelli-angel-city-motorcycle-tyre-package-2003069/
  22. The red one in the link. I quite liked the yellow. But I need to grow up at my age. I've always liked Arai. But at that price it's a real bargain. I will let you know what I think when it's delivered.
  23. You made me do it Simon. New helmet on the way.
  24. It's happening everywhere now. There was a case last summer of three people on Suron electric bikes goading the police here. They are deliberately setting out to harass, or commit crime.
  25. How about not on your Nellie Melba pudding? If you didn't know. Peach Melba was named after this famous opera singer.
