My grandad grew up in India. And when the family moved back to the uk he was a teenager. It was the hottest summer for a few years in the U.K. And my grandad was walking around with a polo neck jumper on. He said he got some strange looks.

Perhaps it has corrosion inside the switch? It's got to be worth a try cleaning it.

You can get quite a good finish with a rattle can if you take your time. And use good quality paints. A good pain shop can mix it up the pain with the paint code. Or scan a panel to get a good match. You could also try eBay for a good used panel.

Younger people feel invincible in a metal box. It is a bit crazy. There are always going to be a few who have money and go out and buy a really powerful car once passing the test. I suppose all the safety feature on modern cars make it a lot safer.

That's pretty safe @Tinkicker I think up to 175°C is considered okay for a CHT gauge on an air cooled bike. It's always better to be on the safe side.

That's got to be a great investment getting your own mooring. And if it means continuing with a hobby you love. It's funny there are boats moored in the estuary near us. I've hardly seen any move in the 7 years I've lived here.
