You can only go on what people present to you when hiring someone. It's not good for them, or you if they are not up to the job.But You did the right thing. It wouldn't have been fair on your team to let him continue. And another five months of wages would have left a bad taste in your mouth.

Here is the MOT test regarding lights. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-motorcycles/4-lamps-reflectors-and-electrical-equipment If it's the ones on the top of the headlight fairing. I guess it's because all white lights should be facing the front.

Unfortunately this licencing system was brought in as an EU directive. Without much thought being put into it. This is why we had to have special test centres built as the road bit is 31mph in most countries.

Definitely a two stroke pipe. Possibly for some scooter by the shape of it. But not a very high performance one by the small chamber. Lambretta or something similar?

To a lot of people, 20K is a high mileage bike. So if you sell it later on. It would be worth less to the average buyer. A couple of bike shops wouldn't even consider taking my friends VFR800, with 24,000 miles on. It was three years old and a touring bike used for its intended purpose. The valve service is a good call too. Could add quite a bit of expense.

If it was a cheaper area. They would make up their money on the change of address fee.

I remember on guy that was reported in the press with 30 points. He was a cardiac surgeon. Could be called on at anytime, day or night. They argued that losing his licence would cost people's lives. -

Took the rear wheel off, and to the tyre place for some new rubber. Put my back out so I will fit it another day as no hurry. I'm off work now till new year.

Yeah the theory test should only need to be done once. Unless there is major changes made to the system. If you have an A2 licence. You should be able to upgrade to an A licence after two years. Riding a bigger bike with a days training with an instructor. Providing you reach a standard he feels is acceptable. The two years, then retake the CBT isn't working. After two years you don't forget how to ride. The government need to address why people are not doing the full test. Financial resources perhaps? -
It was my cousin's first bike after passing his test. After a year he sold it to buy a TZR250. The lunatic.

To be honest the 125cc sports bikes are not as uncomfortable as the bigger bikes. If you look at the bars for instance, they are above the top yoke, not under. And the foot legs are not as high as a proper sports bike. I would rather have a Honda CBF than the Benelli if I was commuting that far. Even if it meant buying second hand. It's likely going to be more reliable. And more places would work on it if it did go wrong.
