  1. Thanks for the help everyone, I've screenshot the page and forwarded it on to him. He was trying to decide between the Tenere and the BMW, I think he's plumping for the Beemer though, certainly looks like a nice bike, I'm looking forward to having a go on it....I did mention the fact that he'd need engine bars, looking at the picture, if it were to go over on those sticky out cylinders heads I reckon it would be an expensive job
  2. Does anyone on the forum own one of these bikes? Has owned one or had any experience of them? My mate is looking at buying a 2018 model, looks in good order, low mileage, very tidy machine. He wants to use it next year for touring down to Spain (hopefully), he will also be using it for the daily commute. I was asked what I thought but I know nothing about this bike other than what it says on Google reviews, TBH I often find reviews on Google a bit one sided, I personally prefer to find out what people who ride them think....If anyone knows anything, advice would be appreciated
  3. I have the same problem mate, I work shifts, which means most of my days off are on week days when my mates are working, I tend to miss out on the weekend ride outs quite a bit.
  4. Never driven an Aygo but the garage did loan us a Hybrid Yaris when my wife's car went in for service, a bit too small for me but it went like shit of a shovel....I was pretty amazed by its turn of speed.
  5. Good to meet you Buddy and welcome to the forum
  6. Mine only start to stink after riding in the good old winter weather, when they get soaked. I usually pack them with paper to dry them out and spray the insides with febreeze once they're dry, seems to do the trick.
  7. Definitely still a good lunch time stop over, a favourite with the local bikers Nice quality! What cam is that? Its a Ghost Drift 4k, I've just been experimenting with a wired microphone, the sound quality, if using the built in mike (for motorcycling at least) was abysmal, wired mike seems to cut down on wind noise depending on where its mounted. I had the camera mounted on my helmet.
  8. This is brilliant, not sure if anywhere in the UK does this but I've never come across anywhere? Apparently the next step is to fit ground anchors for bikes to secure to, well done Sweden....
  9. peel is a great place how is the marine doing for food is it still as good, queenies in garlic last time i was in there Definitely still a good lunch time stop over, a favourite with the local bikers
  10. Standard of driving on this island has got a lot worse over the past few years, rude, arrogant behaviour, road rage incidents and generally poor standards. A lot of people calling for all island speed limits, when in actual fact most of the accidents are in 30mph zones, and caused by piss poor pathetic driving ability and lack of attention. I agree with Dynax, and this is something I said some time ago, drivers should have to do some sort of refresher training. Just today, older couple in a big 4WD come around a blind bend on the wrong side of the road, this has become typical driving on the country lanes. Thankfully I wasn't going fast, tucked the bike right over, I did blast the horn, more out of annoyance I suppose, and was acknowledged not with a wave of apology, but with a "F--- Off" through their open window as they drove past .... And don't even get me started on the standard of cycling!!
  11. Headed over to the West of the Island to Peel for the Classic and custom bike show, nice little ride down the lanes .... I just loved the dog on traffic duty (see video)
  12. Went on the key worker appreciation lap of the TT course yesterday, it was to celebrate the the hard work of all key workers during this pandemic, not just Health, but everyone. It should have been the Festival of motorcycling last week which was cancelled so it was good to see so many bikers turning out for the event, decent weather as well which is a bonus....
  13. https://www.pro-bolt.com 25% off over the bank holiday weekend
  14. I have valve extenders that I fit for when I check tyre pressures, I considered having permanent valves fitted to the wheel but was advised against it, although small they do affect the balance of the wheel apparently....All I wanted was to make it easier to get to the valve for pressure checking, so valve extenders work perfectly for me.
  15. Welcome....Great city Liverpool, had a few good nights over there with my brother....Ridden through it loads of times, but Still get lost going back to the boat
  16. This guy is having a really shite day! Certainly highlights the issues some riders have with riding in high winds. I used to certainly feel the winds when I was riding the Tenere.
  17. I've only ever used them as a temporary fix to get me home, I also ride really slowly with one in. I personally wouldn't trust them long term, however I do know some people have faith in them depending on the type used.
  18. Really good phone, my wife has one, I can't get to grips with it, I've always used Apple so I suppose its what you get used to. My wife loves her Samsung though and wouldn't change, it takes cracking pictures, better ones than my Nikon takes. The only problem she's ever encountered was the screen froze on a couple of occasions other than that she gives it five stars
  19. Cracking photo, brilliant back drop
  20. What some people post on social media amazes me....I don't use it but my wife does, one of her friends regularly posts everything about her life, last year as an example, she told the world she was off to Florida for two weeks, look through her photos and there are pictures of where she lives, open invite for thieves! As has already been said, be thoughtful about what you post and what information you're giving out, both directly and indirectly. By indirectly I mean things that can be seen in the background of photos, things that give indicators of where you live. Also review your security settings, make sure your account is locked down so only those you want to see your posts can. This page gives some good advice on settings and security, at the end of the day, just employ a good dose of common sense https://heimdalsecurity.com/blog/facebook-security-privacy-guide/
  21. hope you had a good one
  22. Im not entirely sure that there is a huge correlation between what happens in the continental USA and what happens here. As for not worrying so much about clothing, I doubt this chap would defend that idea. Rash.jpg thats going to ache for a week Especially when he gets to A&E and they scrub his gravel rash to get the crud out .... Hopefully a lesson learnt.
  23. Couldn't agree more....when I moved to the Island to live I had to change my riding style from what is was when I lived in Leicester. I Agree with Goat, farmers cause a lot of problems, pulling trailers out of fields, laden with mud that they spread all the way down the road, it also seems to be a prerequisite for tractors to leak oil and diesel. I've lost count of the times I've gone round a bend and come across errant livestock that's escaped from fields. But farmers have a job to do, the way I see it is its down to me to adapt, I've learnt to expect the unexpected over here. Everything from poor road surfaces to foreign bikers who forget what side of the road they should be riding on. I've had a couple of near misses, one with a German biker and one where it was my bike Vs a pile of horse shite right on the apex of a bend .... We live and learn, the danger comes from people who never seem to learn, they overcook things, and it usually ends in disaster..
  24. That seat looks nice and comfy, what is it? Its a Corbin seat, it wasn't cheap but it is comfortable, far superior to the OEM one. I ride a lot so thought I'd treat myself to a bit of luxury, I can certainly go a lot further now before getting a numb backside...
