  1. I think the whole issues would have been with the effective use of diffusion like we use on this forum. The introduction of biscuits to negotiation would have sorted it without a doubt!
  2. Whoever picks it up needs the documents stamped by the police to authorise the release, they will need to prove the person driving it away has insurance and a licence to ride said bike. Your 'mate' will have a piece of paper telling him this and the storage and release costs.
  3. Have a great time holiday too, enjoy!
  4. I had a few niggles with the 2021 900gt the seat used to make me slide into the tank but was comfy enough. Loved the engine but for 2 up fully loaded touring I found the suspension a bit lacking. I believe they have improved this on the 9gt. I didn't feel the quickshifter was great either. I think there are a few more updates planned for next year the split lcd display changing to a conventional one and possibly radar cruise control. I opted for the africa twin adventure sports and does everything well for me. Take as many test rides of different bikes that you can.
  5. Quite like the sound of the standard AT exhaust but ur right they do add some weight to the bike like a lot of standard ones. Prize for the ugliest looking can I think is the ones on the latest v stroms they must weigh a tonne too!
  6. But sometimes you can see someone and think nob and he has a loud exhaust
  7. That looks a tidy campsite
  8. Just got a few bits from go outdoors not an hour ago for the very same reason and some others ordered from amazon
  9. Yes I looked at the additional things to aid making it easier it's the stratching to put the awning up etc. I'm thinking B&Bs and brief camping trips etc. I feel like an old man now every time I go to hospital to the cardiac ward they all say ur too young to be here. Hopefully in Dec my plumbing will be sorted, valve repaired triple bypass and an aortic repair all in one go. 3-6 months recovery and some form of normaiity, but one man's normal isn't a others I guess
  10. Yes similar size to ours a dream to tow. I would love to have kept it as it was like new however with my health lugging it around putting down corner steady and all that will be too much. We decided to sell it now while summers here and get a decent price. The ladies that bought it have some great holiday plans so just happy its still being used.
  11. Yes ur right there and it's never straight forward. I had a collision in 2013 clearly not my fault I took photos and printed pics off, someone overtaking me where 2 lanes merge into one on a dotted white took put my offside. It ended up being 50:50 but took a year to get that far I got about £600 quid from quote me happy for their incompetence . 3 years later out the blue I had some random solicitors letter with another apology and a further £1000 on the form of a cheque. I think by the end of it I was in profit I only had a £200 excess and they never asked for that! Needless to say I won't deal with quote me happy which is part of aviva
  12. Used bike market is still quite high but you should be able to get a reasonable yam ybr or Honda cbf for that and get your money back come time to sell
  13. No issues with them when I had my tracer but when I changed to the africa twin they said they couldn't insure me which was a bit odd been with bemoto since and that have been good and no issues re modifications. I don't get how some insurers work
  14. Oh well the end of an era our old girl has been sold today and goes to a new happy home next week. I'll be sad to see it go
  15. A bit like them Danish cookies you get in a tin at Xmas not a great deal to them!
  16. Hold ur phone/laptop over your head as you are loading the website gets you a few feet closer to the satellite
  17. Malted milk vs nice biscuit which one?
  18. I'd say the same usually it's best to call them I'm sure you will be on hold for ages but they will sort it. I've been with Hastings quite a few times and should make no odds on the policy. Had a similar issue with current insurer it was ambiguous with datatool which tracker I have my tracker renewal had a different model to all the other paperwork I have. Turned out I have a newer tracker which my current insurer did not recognise for a discount the company contacted the underwriter and it was sorted with no cost in the end. However if I'd not sorted and claimed for a theft later I'm sure it would have been an issue!
  19. I feel for you that was a tough assignment but looks like you got the job done
