I’ve been sorting out a load of old Bike mags & came across some old articles by Dan Walsh - anyone remember him? It lead me to buy this : Took me only 2 days to read & loved it. Now I don’t know if it’s due to lockdown cabin fever or a constant bombardment from the motorcycling press that adventure bikes are the new Supersports, but this has triggered something inside of me ... Just got to find a way of breaking the news to Mrs Mickly. FFS the pics on the piss ... sort it please [mention]Stu[/mention]

I’ve managed to catch 6 different species using the same lure off the same mark in Cornwall: Mackerel Bass Gar Pollack Wrasse ( that was a bloody surprise ) Coalfish Also saw a Sunfish there once. Fishing with bait there could also be good, but the Spider crabs are a bloody menace .... caught a couple of those too.

Filleting Mackerel is an art I haven’t mastered - it’s a complete git ... I always end up taking out bones with a pair of pliers before cooking. I’ve discovered that it’s probably better to cook them whole & remove the bones as your eating them.

I’ve caught Sea Trout in a Scottish sea loch ( Loch Long ) using feathers. & very tasty they were to. Catching fish & cooking them on the beach is one of life’s great joys.

Where’s your box, poles, runners, 3 keep nets, staging & 2 tons of feed/ bait? This is for some sea fishing, first will be some spinning for a mackeral, that will then get chopped up for bait for a couple of long distant lines, then spinning while waiting for some bites on the the other 2 & don’t forget some ‘Dirty’ Squid...
