What was the state of the exhaust once you’d removed the wrapping? The exhausts are fine . Harley exhausts are made of something resembling galvanized scaffolding tube and probably weigh as much . They are then clad in a chromed heat shield along their entire length which makes them look pristine. I haven't actually checked to see if the headers are stainless but as I say , they are completely unaffected. Obviously never seen rain

Lorry driver on the Newbury bypass I was about to filter between him and a car when he drifted to the right, I thought he was being a twat and trying to block me off, then he drifted left into the gutter kicking up debris followed by a lurch to the right, I decided to hold back and tuck in behind the car in the RH lane. Sure enough as we eventually drew level I could see he was looking at his phone - I blew my horn and gave him the shaking coffee beans sign , he just looked at me blankly - f**king ar*ehole.

Nice bike, but I was under the misapprehension that it was an XR1200R not an XL. The XR used to have its own single make race series supporting BSB - saw them being wrestled round Mallory Park by the likes of Jeremy McWilliams, they looked to be having a right laugh.

Mate of mine has just brought an XF650 Freewind and has discovered that if he leaves the fuel tap on it fill the crankcases with fuel. He’s checked the float heights and that the float valves are clean and seating correctly. Can any of our resident technical whizz’s suggest what else it might be? Thanks
