1. You forgot to mention the metric adjustable wrench . Totally badass ! By the way , look what I got as a bonus with my stickers. I can't find a frame small enough for it yet but I shall treasure it always. I can suggest somewhere you can put them
2. Depends upon how bad the weather is. I remember riding in the snow and ice on my Fizzie going to college- wouldn’t have wanted anything bigger after falling off umpty times. Rainy conditions seem better on a big bike due to bigger contact patch, but it could also be due to better tyres and more experience.
3. I’m sure there’s an Itchybum video showing how to remove a seized bleed nipple with the aid of 2gm of sulphur, 1 pint of ionised water, an old phone battery and a banana. Or not
4. Tee hee The Street is an excellent bike - test ride it - you’ll love it
5. You obviously feel the need for Speed - Speedtriple Or if your a bit effeminate a Streettriple
6. This is on this weekend I’ll be along on Sunday BTW - how does a show ground close to Shepton Mallet class as ‘ Brizzle’ ? https://www.classicbikeshows.com/event/carole-nash-bristol-classic-motorcycle-show/
7. Twinned with the Suzuki Intruder no doubt.
8. Hold on !! The ones on my Trophy are Nissin not the hated Tokico.
9. H’mm, where have I read that .... many times?
10. Hiya Sorry for the delay in responding. Again, thanks for the offer, but I’ve got them out using a mate’s compressor ( just got home from his ). The operating area of the pistons look ok and the bores are fine, so a clean and paint of the caliper then reassembly is all that’s required.
11. A very kind offer. I’m in Coventry.
12. Thanks mikestrivens Who’d have thought there would be a specific tool for the job?
13. So ... Ist learning point is that if you want to inspect brake caliper condition and want to remove the pistons, do it before you take the caliper off the bike so you can use the brake lever pressure to remove them. So that particular horse has bolted, and now I have a rear brake caliper off the bike with a stuck piston, the other piston moved with some air pressure from my stirrup pump, but this one seems stuck tight. Any useful suggestions would be appreciated. Ta.

Advice on Paint

Ok, so I know that this isn’t the time of year ( temperature wise ) to be painting bike bits in an unheated shed. So I’ve tried heating the rattle can up in front of a halogen heater and heating the part to be painted with a hot air stripping gun before painting.... However after 3 days the paint is still soft enough to be scratched with a fingernail. Will heating it up in an oven get it to set hard or is it a case of start over and do it again when it’s a bit warmer?
15. Not bad is it. In The Night Garden has just started - I feel I should be smoking something to appreciate it fully. Like the Magic Roundabout: In The Night Garden and the Clangers are a Stoners dream.
16. Mend soonest You’re young and will recover quickly
17. I carry a filleting knife (7” blade) in my sea fishing tackle box. Mind you the Police could do me for carrying it without just cause .... could have stayed in the packet for all the use it’s had!!
18. Not me Just finished a gym session
19. You did this on purpose didn’t you ... You know damn well it’s Hartlepool not Middles - bog - horror !! We’ll now spiral into a pit of despair over the state of people’s knowledge of British history, not just biscuit history and spelling / grammar.
20. you will be calling them bag ties next I would tie my bags with Twizzle Sticks . When I was a lot younger and a lot less wiser a Twizzle stick was slang for a Bong pipe (allegedly), dunno how you’d tie a bag with one, smoke a bag yes, but tie a bag up??
21. Lifted straight out of the Ichiban Moto manual.
22. My step daughter brought a second hand car 4 months ago. The dealer mentioned that logbooks (V5) will not display the names / addresses of previous owners due to data protection laws. Sure enough, when the log book turned up there was only a statement re: number of previous owners. I reckon this is a huge bonus for unscrupulous dealers to hide a vehicles history. In the past I have asked to look at the V5 and contacted previous owners to ask about the vehicle, if a dealer refused, I walked away - obviously got something to hide.
23. The complete nob who packed my order of 4x62mm (MR011) Ramair foam pod filters for my Trophy project .... 3 fitted and looking good, 4th one wouldn’t fit ... it a smaller filter, an MR008 - gutted, I’ve just had to go through the rigmarole of having a correctly sized one shipped out and then soon there will be the faff of returning the incorrect 1. I was very excited when the parcel arrived, that was all spoiled coz some erk couldn’t be arsed to check that they’d selected the right parts.
24. My mistake I just checked, apparently they are still trading
25. I take photos before I have any work done by someone else, I learned my lesson when I had the fork seals done on my previous Speedtriple by a now defunct independent in Cov, after I picked it up I noticed a couple of deep gouges in the gold coloured anodised parts of the fork uppers, when I complained they just shrugged and said they must of been there when I took it in. This kind of customer service is probably why they are now defunct.
