Truck style air horns on cruiser??
Jixerman replied to christoph93's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
That is true, however I get pulled out on very often with them having a clear view of me with no other cars in the sight. However they still feel the need to be in front of me. However I think the shitty L plates are the culprit mostly. Do you ride near the kerb? I was taught many many moons ago to ride about 1 metre out but generally I'll position myself smack in the middle of the lane I'm in. Unless I'm following another bike, then I'll sit off to one side of them in case they brake suddenly -

......and READING the road and riding according to the road conditions which, believe it or not, includes other traffic If you can't pick up on everything that's going to be a potential hazard to you, you're not paying enough attention or you're going too fast!!!! -

We got home about 1:30/2:00pm ish Time for a quick cuppa and shower then we were off to our daughters (1hr drive) to pick the dog up Eventually after doing the rounds visiting the kids and grandkids we got back home about 7:15pm Although we slightly overdid the alcohol intake on the first night and totally paid for it for the rest of the weekend we enjoyed it and it was good to catch up with some friends we haven't seen for way too long, and meet some new people Glad to report we both felt back to normal this morning

Ground anchor reviews?
Jixerman replied to maccy's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
At my last house I had a Ground Hog 3. The rawl bolts came with a resin bonding paste to secure it well and truly to the concrete garage floor. The bolt heads were recessed and metal caps were supplied to prevent tampering. The chain loop was good and thick. Too thick for bolt croppers and I believe disc cutter proof. Once fitted you bad no hope in hell of getting the thing back out save for gunning the concrete out around it. Good piece of kit, well worth the money and left me confident the bikes were secure. As I have a new car I need some of them car window sticker things If someone from the forum could bring some along that would be great The ones that go on the inside One in red and one in white as last time I think they was 600(ish)mm ones Would also like two red 300(ish)mm ones for the CB I'll be ordering a T shirt, but not till after I get paid so may not have it in time for t' rally Thinking about it, if you brought a few TMBF items along I'm sure others would buy something

Let us know how you get on I went to a seminar in Pimlico area the other week I considered taking the bike but wasn't sure about the on street parking arrangements despite trolling the net so I used the train Good job I did too as I discovered on my walk to the seminar that all the on street bike bays I passed were chockablock The bikes were all bunched in one massive marked bike bay, no one had used the car bays Finding a space would have been a challenge I'm lucky that we have security patrolled underground parking at our London office

Backpack/rucksack while biking?
Jixerman replied to Abraxix92's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Only issue I ever had was forgetting to do the ruddy zips up thus allowing the contents loose while on the go I now use a top box -
why dont you ride and she bring the car ?? indeed Because she doesn't have a driving license and that would be illegal
