1. Ride faster and treat red lights as advisory only? But yes, layers for insulation. My main concern actually would be condensation and things going soggy
2. On my birthday I'm reminded of a Bob Monkhouse classic. I can confirm I still enjoy sex at 35. I only live at number 28 so it's no distance.
3. I just started thinking off all the stuff Magpie84 and I have bought in just 10 months
4. And I thought I was lucky when I kicked a cone and still passed
5. Keep asking, I'm a relative noob too and this sort of post helps me get my head around all this. In my CBT the whole chain tension thing was mentioned but it's not like they really went into it in any detail. I've had to watch a fair number of videos to get my head around it all.
6. I use a GoPro Hero Session on my bicycle, never found somewhere to mount it on my ER6F though and I haven't fancied a helmet mount. Should be easier on a ER6N I imagine though if that's what you've got. They've just stopped making it, which is a shame, as it's waterproof by design but you're bound to find one second hand if it takes your fancy.
7. It is true, that lady in the top pic will suffer significantly from the wind chill at this time of the year.
8. In a similar vein Six30 https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R231U4ZG0YDNHD
9. I'll be amazed if this hasn't been shared before, but it appeared on my Facebook Memories today so I just had to share it here
10. It's not fair if no blame, but there's a statistic out there that if you have any sort of claim (even not at fault) you're more likely to have another incident in the next few years. I'll have to try and find it.
11. This was the video that finally got me sorted. Lots of videos talk about getting your backside as close to the ground as you can, kidneys against the seat. I find it much easier to rest my backside on the side (currently top of the bike when sideways!) and start from there
12. Fault: theirs, they crossed into your lane Anticipation: a failure on your part here, in future, have more in this situation Insurance: will want the easy life, the other insurer won't want to settle for the full amount so will argue and your insurer won't argue 100% liability (not worth the additional time and effort on their side) ie there's a disconnect here between whose to blame, who could have done a bit more to prevent, and what the relevant insurance companies are really willing to do on their customer's behalf. I really hope you do get better soon and this doesn't knock too much out of you, but remember that if another road user can't see you they simply can't see you, and seeing the car also isn't the same as the driver seeing you. I think there's already been some good advice on signs to look out for, if I'm on two wheels with or without an engine I actually filter on the inside as a last resort. I prefer being to the offside (right) of the queuing traffic. Also be VERY careful when using bus lanes with minor junctions to your left.
13. I told Magpie84 that she should embrace her mistakes. Then she gave me a huge hug.
14. True wasn't definitely one of the things I'd considered - easier to check on a bicycle wheel though plus I have all the tools to fix an out of true bike wheel
15. This is a recent MOT advisory on a bike I've enquired about Front Wheel damaged but not to excess (5.2.2 © (i)) This is said damage: Supposedly been checked by a mechanic who said it's nothing to worry about... But is there anything else you would check? (nb might not even go and see it yet, it's a bit of a trek and I'm not in a rush anyways, but this is generally good info for the future anyway)
16. Starting your own garden is easy, but picking all of the vegetables? That’s the harvest part.
17. I merely said that I was more than happy to help alleviate a fellow human's suffering.
18. I've just managed my first proper meal of 2019. So far this year hasn't been kind to me You'll be pleased to know I was well looked after by Magpie84
19. My only issue with Shpock is they don't prod sellers to check an item is still available. Many listings are ridiculously old. From chatting to one of their developers once I think they leave them on purpose to make the site look a lot busier than it is.
20. I sold my 125 through eBay, luckily the fees weren't too high. Sometimes you can list when they have an offer on fees. I had no interest through Gumtree (but of course you might have more joy), Facebook was just filled with time wasters offering stupid swaps (ask a few questions then suddenly offering a quad bike as a part exchange) and people making ridiculous offers (worst was a dealer who rang and offered £400 when I had it listed for four times that) The one benefit of Facebook is that if you've joined a few selling pages it's easy to share across all of them, they e really got that working well. I did look at the more classic motor listing sites but due to the value of my bike it wasn't worth it, but I can see the attraction if you have a higher value bike to sell.
21. Merry Christmas all. I hope those with young kids have some new Christmas memories this morning, and if someone is missing from the table you still have a pleasant day
22. Last Christmas, I gave you my heart... And the very next day, I start to decay.... There, you'll be singing it all day now Luckily remixes and covers aren't counted
23. I'm in today, might be allowed to kick off early. Then back for one day on the 2nd Jan, off again on the 3rd then all back to normal from there. My first job after graduating was almost guaranteed to be working, but nowadays I'm lucky to generally be able to take it all off. I don't care much for New Year (even volunteered to work NYE at the last moment once to help another site out) but do appreciate Christmas off, in the past because I could travel to see family when we didn't live nearby but now because we have kids. My main goal in the office today, rather than simply trying to leave early, is to avoid hearing Wham's Last Christmas - I'm so close to completing the Whamageddon challenge https://www.whamageddon.com/
24. I have zero idea if I'll have any time for this, so one will be am achievement. In which case 82 for me please. 115 for Magpie84 in case she can get out with me at the same time
25. My youngest just told me this one: What do you get if you cross a fish and an elephant? Swimming trunks.
