  1. Riding like that and in heavy traffic hospital is probably his best hope. Given the traffic density his more likely destination is a mortuary slab.
  2. That's why the high street is taking a hammering. If you can't compete price wise with the online market you are screwed. A place I go is Motolegends and they are mainly online but have a good shop as well, attached to their warehouse. They guarantee to match anyone's price so are pretty good. It must be difficult if you can't match the cheapest prices and I guess why so many do go out of business.
  3. There's just so much choice!
  4. Given his appetite for women I don't think you can class him as misogynistic. Also where is the racist thing come from other than leftie plonkers like Lammy? There are more senior Tories of ethnic minorities than in the Labour shadow cabinet. And Labour's are such idiots - Diane Abbott FFS.
  5. Although I still have a couple of hours to go - Happy New Year to one and all. Could be an interesting one as well!
  6. I think if all 24 of us sit on one side we aren't going to have much luck tipping 158,000 tonnes. Very rarely someone does get their calculations wrong and apart from being out of a job you can be on YouTube - not a good look.
  7. If that's from the daily fail it's probably not true anyway. Seems a bit lightly dressed for this time of year.
  8. Is that what you shout when you sail under a low bridge They've actually changed the name to Nautilus, not sure what is supposed to mean if anything. As to low bridges a calculated clearance of 2 metres sounds reasonable until you are actually approaching the bridge, then you really hope that the calculations were correct and your height is really 40 metres
  9. I know a few Russian asses not sure about assets.
  10. Disraeli was also reputedly the founder of One Nation Toryism - top bloke for a Victorian.
  11. For hated and reviled leaders both of them managed significantly better election results than their successors. I suppose that says a lot about the average British voter. The mobs of antis waving placards never seem to follow through with electoral success. I wonder why?

    Xmas Thread!

If I could I would but sadly my bike is in Co. Durham and I'm between Jamaica and Hispaniola.
  13. I nod to all and sundry even grumpy old gits on large BMW's
  14. Hello, can I have 88 again? Thanks.

Sounds like Bishop Auckland on any given Saturday night.

You think the southern ocean will be that bad? There's a reason the Roaring Forties have that name.

    Xmas Thread!

Well at least I don't have any wrapping to do. Horrible job and I'm rubbish at it. As for the storm god's they are all asleep for now but they'll wake up in the Southern Ocean as we will be on our way to Australia.

    Xmas Thread!

You can all bugger off about Christmas. I'll be working as we are scheduled to be finishing a ship to ship transfer in the wee hours of Christmas Day. Then I'll cover the bridge so my merry men can enjoy their Christmas dinner although as we are 'dry' there won't be much merriment. The only positive is the weather is beautiful - bright sunshine and about 24 C.
  19. We're all doomed, doomed I tell you.
  20. The thing is. Its got nothing to do with anybody else but the people who have the right to vote. If you feel the labour party have elected a succession of losers then thats your prerogative but in the same vain its got knack all to do with you as you're clearly not a member of the labour party. And i very much doubt a union member. Actually so far as being a union member goes you'd be wrong as I'm a member of NUMAST. It's even TUC affiliated. Your absolutely right that I'm not a member of the Labour Party and how / who they select to lead them is sod all to do with me. Except it is as it's people who aren't Labour members who need to be persuaded that whoever they select are fit to govern.
  21. Is that the democratic process that gives a huge chunk of 'votes' to a trade union? To be honest I know very little about the process of selecting Labour leaders other than they've thrown up some real losers.
  22. You're not meant to sit on them. You can laugh but a few years ago we had a spate of broken toilets on a ship. The crew had changed nationality and I'll not be specific but it turned out the daft sods were standing on the bowls and squatting. Civilization was not really their thing. They were replaced after a short time.
  23. On my first bike years ago skived from college and found myself in the Trough of Bowland which was nice until it started to blizzard. Seemed to take forever to very slowly get down to where it just rained. Not something to repeat if I can avoid.
  24. Have to say if there's a newspaper (not sure it deserves the name) I absolutely loathe it is the Daily Mail. Horrible bloody rag.
