  1. As opposed to going slow to make the ride last longer I prefer to ride faster and further. If I'm going to gawp at scenery I'd rather get off and walk.
  2. Seem to remember reading that someone did just that out in Romania. They've apparently got the same problem with rural depopulation as Spain.
  3. I'll ride slow if the conditions warrant it but I can't say I actually enjoy riding slowly nor deliberately set out to ride slowly. That said I don't go hooning around the countryside all the time. I like to think I ride sensibly albeit with a fairly liberal definition of sensible.
  4. I'm a fan of green myself and also of temperatures less than 24 C. If he was in New Zealand or Norway then I'd wish I was there. Quite happy to visit for a couple of weeks but not to live.
  5. That makes sense. Nothing like having a brand name to mark up the price.
  6. That's a bloody expensive battery. I had toyed with the idea of upgrading mine to lithium assuming that it is even possible but not at that price!
  7. Why so? I'm not a MAG member but some of the stuff in the newsletter is relevant such as 'smart' motorways.
  8. TBH I've never even checked the admissible payload! But I'd wear my gear and exceed it rather than ride naked and stay under it! Thank God for that.
  9. From what I see the insurance companies seem to just make up the rules as they go along. There's precious little rationality or consistency. Quotes can vary enormously as well and the automatic renewals are usually just rip-offs. Really ticks me off!
  10. That's good to know as I should be home for it. Yay!
  11. I'd heard Spain had suffered from a bad drought. At home in the UK seems to be the opposite, too much water. Weather is a bitch.
  12. Silly me. When you said canals I thought you meant the British version with boats and all. They're actually irrigation canals are they not? Riding along them looks to be pretty damned good and traffic free to boot. All round winner. A tad envious.

    Vegas!

Seems he has form for "modifying" gloves according to previous sparring partners. Remember though that he's a sensitive soul from the traveling community and you mustn't say nasty things about him.
  14. Makes me so glad that my more "mature" figure means that my leather wearing days are behind me.
  15. I've got the real Cobra kit and it works quite well. Have real issues with Chinese stuff at work and consequently avoid it as much as possible when it's my own money. Don't care if it's cheaper.
  16. Snowball Hope
  17. Some of us sadly have a need for speed but are a bit old and large for sport bikes. Mine does me very nicely thank you and on the one 125 I have actually ridden (on holiday) I firstly felt like one of those bears you used to see riding pedal bikes in circuses and then nearly killed myself when I pulled out to overtake and couldn't. Not for me I'm afraid.
  18. . Most importantly, you must use a cotton bud on the teeth of the cogs to apply fresh unicorn tears every new moon. Ha. Any fool know's it's the FULL moon not the new moon. Honestly the youth of today.
  19. It's one of the most irritating issues in some towns and cities. Some bus lanes specifically allow motorbikes to use them, others in the same city (Bristol is one) are not for motorbike use. You just have to read the signs. Would I use a bus lane that did not specify motorbike use? Probably not as there's too much risk of getting done especially as many are camera monitored.
  20. Haven't seen much in the way of political correctness on here thankfully. Seen the occasional knobber and 'Guest' seems to be making an effort in that direction. And yeah I'm a boomer and if that's a problem for you - tough.
  21. If I closed my eyes while riding I think it would be a very short ride. Don't think I will be trying it!
  22. I was thinking of mounting close to frame clamped to peice of wood out across luggage rack.. You're on a slippery slope mate - it'll end up like this https://www.facebook.com/262162450735/videos/430925314286247/ That must be the most overloaded bike in the history of the world. Like the way the little guy at the front tried to cadge something while riding. Obviously hard wired reflex of gimme.
  23. For myself I don't like listening to music whilst riding. I wear earplugs to protect what's left of my hearing but what little I can hear I'd prefer to be the bike. If I was listening to music I'd have to have it so loud to hear it at all that protecting my hearing would be a nonstarter.
  24. I was under the impression that this was an English language forum. Perhaps I'm wrong.
  25. Can you get done for being drunk in charge of a push bike with electric assist? I know in Germany you can be but not sure about the UK.
