Not true. There's at least 5 days a year when it doesn't rain and the temperature gets above 15 C. Then the billion midges come out to play.

I'll be at sea. Due back August 1st.

Pretty sure it's residents only as otherwise half the bikers in the country would have Manx licences. A friend of mine from years ago whose parents actually lived in the IoM had a Manx licence and a UK one ( in the era of ride around the block tests) and when he was acquiring an unhealthy number of points on one switched to the other. Eventually he got caught of course but it was fun while it lasted.

Buy a set. If you use the wrong size you've a good chance of wrecking the head of the screw giving you a whole new set of problems.

Too true. Right now I'm kind of scratching my head to find out what the police actually do. Chase killers maybe which is a good thing but all the stuff that affects ordinary people - burglaries, mugging, anti social behaviour generally just gets ignored.

Good luck getting plod to attend for noisy exhausts.

I hear enough cars racketing around my neck of the woods with obviously illegal exhausts. Plod seem to completely ignore them. By definition they aren't exactly stealthy. Apart from one Subaru WRX I see (and hear) they are mostly small Fords and Vauxhalls and usually quite sluggish performance wise.

My understanding is that if you are an American citizen you can use an American drivers licence but whether its permanent or not I don't know. I do know that a Brit who obtained an American licence and tried to use it in the UK didn't get far unless you were resident in the USA and just visiting. A friend tried it and got fined quite a lot back in the 80's. May have changed now though.

Disheartening. The dead hand of bureaucracy falling onto motorbikes.

any nation of people who go around eating frogs and snails i think are a bit lacking
Ah, but I like snails although I can give frogs legs a miss. Egyptians eat them too by the way.

After de-rating we max out at about 74 or 75 rpm. If the weathers bad then less as load protection cuts in which works on a torque governor. Our power to weight score is pathetic.

I would poke needles in my eyes before I'd go to Egypt out of choice.

No leathers and the only rowing is on the rowing machine in the gym. On these kind of ships propulsion power is a large 4 stroke 6 cylinder diesel nominally18750 kW but downgraded to 11500 kW to comply with emission standards. Electrical power is from 3 auxiliary diesel gensets of 1050 kW again 6 cylinders each.

I rather like France and never had trouble paying for anything with a UK card since about 1987.

Despite the name Benelli bikes are made in China. The brand is 100% owned by Chinese.

Where to next?
Do you have to stay on board whilst in port?
On our way to load in Houston probably for Pembroke UK. Usually I do have to stay on board. Can be a very busy time work wise.

Raining here in New York too and has been for days. Combined with a gale so the harbour pilots aren't working to take ships to sea. Delayed from 0430 yesterday until 1400 today. No rush though.

Rural Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire is the same. 40 mph regardless of the posted limit. Annoying on the bike but infuriating in a car. Actually had idiots overtake me in a 20 mph zone only for me to catch them up a mile outside the village.

409B Electrosolve although it does come in 20 litre drums. Really cleans crap off.

Bennetts Bike Social has an interesting video rebutting Fortnine's and is quite technical. They are basically saying he's wrong politely.

Still entitled to f**k things up and no obligation to get it fixed. Not planning on sticking a coke can on the end.

Knock on wood but the only off I've had at anything other than really slow was long ago when I had a helmet, gloves and boots but otherwise just had regular clothing on. Armour wouldn't have made any difference as the only injury I got was the bar end digging into my thigh. That said I now have decent gear with mostly Ghost D30 armour. I'm not planning on removing it any time soon.

Used to use Fertan on a boat and it worked well enough. Easy to apply as well.
