Not really to do with design etc but something I really don't like - has anyone else noticed that brand specific forums (my recent experience limited to Ducati and Moto Guzzi) treat any perceived criticism as heresy? Ask a question that maybe interpreted as being critical of the brand and you invite a pile of abuse. Particularly noted this with the Guzzi to a ridiculous extent and that's a subscription site. Needless to say I won't be renewing!

As for things I don't like - buttons and switches on bikes which are close together and when wearing gloves are too liable to be inadvertently operated. EG on the Guzzi the cruise control is right next to the full beam light switch. There's been a few folks thinking I'm flashing lights at them when all I'm doing is trying to set the cruise control.

I've got at least 6 pairs of gloves and they are all comfortable and mostly with external seams so they don't chafe my fingers.

It was labelled as bike parts but it was also values as $350 which unfortunately put it in the dutiable (20% VAT plus 2% on the value) bracket. Government never misses a chance to screw you over.

Quite like the green on my Guzzi if you don't mind. As for cars colour who cares? As long as its not some version of silver - that's just bleah.

This morning the long awaited package from the USA arrived and my bike once again has 2 panniers. Had to pay over £80 in "fees" to get it though.

My son is an accountant but used to fly helicopters in the Navy. He also does marathons for fun, skied competitively, scuba dives and rides a GXR 750. Not all accountants are grey men. He also gets paid a lot more than me.

I stop at Devil's Bridge to use the toilets there if I go up the West side of the country to get to Teesdale. Kirkby to Sedbergh to Brough to Middleton in Teesdale. Nice on a summer day. Not at this time of year!

Commuting isn't ever something I put on my insurance as basically I don't so I guess I get that reduction anyway.

The Kirkby one used to be quite a bike gathering spot and there was a roach coach for coffee and stuff. Also toilets on other side of bridge which were handy.

Guessing it's a mast so going to.be difficult. Stick it in a corner and say its an awning pole for the summer or an aerial to improve reception of whatever you can't receive. Have to say given your line of work that fibbing is a bit naughty. Us lesser mortals are expected to be lying bar stewards but not you!

Kind of pisses me off as if I put retired which implies I'm getting old and possibly riding more I get a slightly lower quote than when I state my actual occupation which means I'm not able to ride at all for months. Tossers.

I have a Richa one piece, wore it a couple of times but not for the last 3 years. Just can't be doing with it firstly getting it on and secondly when I need the loo. No more details provided. I now use a two piece. Quite expensive set but haven't leaked in 3 years and some quite heavy rain. Only use them in summer though. My winter kit is waterproof on its own. -
Which one? Seem to remember there's one in Wales and one near Kirkby Lonsdale?

Short legs and a slope away in both cases. By the time my feet hit the floor bike reached angle of no return and down we went. Slowly. No damage apart from to my ego which was dented severely especially on the 2nd occasion. Bike went down on other occasions too but had help in picking it up - icy slush on forecourt, gravel track, etc.

I twice lifted the Multistrada on my own using the back to the bike and pushing with my legs method. In both cases I had to sit down on the kerb and get my breath back. Don't plan on doing it on my own in future!

Don't know what the specific Italian laws might be but I believe the restrictions on new bikers was introduced EU wide so on that basis unless you have an actual motorbike licence it's probably illegal to enhance in any way the performance of what is basically a learner machine.

Having returned the tiny terrorists to their long suffering parents we now have the debris to clear away. This includes all the uneaten cookies and donuts and stuff. That's my sensible eating blown out of the water for the next few days. Bugger.

The trouble is (and in no way am I condoning the idiot in the car) if he's punished as he should be there's a serious chance he'll end up driving without a licence or insurance leading to even more grief for someone down the line.

Torrential rain here and a full gale. Quite happy as I'm hoping it washes all the damned salt of the road. Walked into town yesterday and some roads were like the bonneville salt flats. Horrid.

I've got similar. Was prescribed statins which I took for 6 months then gave up as I found they adversely affected me. Don't plan on living for ever and will enjoy myself in the meantime. My grandfather made it to 86 and smoked all his life. My dad is 93 and still going. Eats what he likes and drinks rum daily. At his age he doesn't give a rat's ass.
