Does anybody understand insurance companies?

I think travel insurers got hammered with all the cancelled flights etc of the last year. Someone has to pay which means the poor old punter as usual. -

Used bike with high number of owners - an issue?

Depends on what bike it is and how niche. Was it a new model with teething issues? If it's a good bike in good nick the number of owners shouldn't be an issue BUT if its nominally a good bike WHY has it had so many owners? -
Successfully serviced and got GPS and heated kit installed. Also got the centre stand fitted but unfortunately when I got home I discovered my stupid sloping drive made it unstable on the centre stand so back on the side stand.

Absolutely. Especially when they don't arouse "I wish I had one of these" thoughts.

It's now in for service. Got a V-Strom 650 as a courtesy bike. Not a bad wee machine but after 30 miles my bum was numb. Won't be trading the V100.

Personally I don't mind if it's cold as I can always put more kit on. My personal hate is when the aircon packs in when it's 40 C outside and I'm sitting in a metal box with sun shining on it.

Neither my wife or I can carry a tune in a paper bag. She can read music but I can't. However my son is quite musical and both my older grandsons are musical - guitars and keyboards and to my tin ear sound quite good.

We've got a Bang & Olafsen deck which my wife bought with an inheritance back in 1983. It sits in the living room gathering dust while we listen to music via an amazon echo and Spotify. Shameful really.

The gentleman driving a Jeep Cherokee who demonstrated his off-roading skills when he found himself in the Bristol Ring Road lane instead of the M32 and drove up the grass embankment back on to the motorway.

Have you tried contacting Circuit Based Training in Mallory Park? They do DAS in 7 days I think. I know a guy who used them and rated them okay. -

Mainly because most road riders don't hit the deck at 200 mph. Imo textiles are more comfortable. I'm not trying to convert anyone, if you prefer leather crack on; I don't but am not trying to convert anyone. -
£218 for 14 days for a 2 yd skip in Gloucestershire. Not much consolation to you.

Due to family commitments on New Year's day I always try and ride on New Year's Eve. Did this year and roads were quite busy but didn't see another loon on 2 wheels. -
I think I've managed to aquire one albeit from the USA so a fair bit of postage. Still a lot cheaper than a replacement pair.

In actual fact unless you are riding on track a lot of more high end textiles give as much protection to road riders as leather. -

I've given up on leathers completely. Hopeless in the rain and unless perforated and lightweight roasting in the summer. Jeans and a Klim summer jacket in the summer with waterproofs if necessary and a textile suit in the winter. Warm, dry and comfy. What's not to like? Plus these don't require the TLC that leather does and I'm a lazy sod. -
After market ones require additional fittings which I'm not keen to have. At least the pannier was empty at the time. A hint of good news is that a guy in the US has a spare having knackered his left hand one. Negotiations are now in progress.

Apart from losing one pannier I had a good day adding another couple of hundred miles on. Less than 150 to go before service which is booked for Jan 12. Rode from near Walton on Thames to Pangbourne, up the Thames Valley to Wallingford and on to Oxford then Stratford (and the Piston Club for lunch) and home again via Evesham and Tewkesbury M5 Junction and home. Nice to have an entire day without rain. The bike is definitely more pleasant to ride than the Multistrada at least for me.

I'll be the easily visible Guzzi as I'll be the one with only one pannier if I'm needing luggage. Not paying £800 for another set. I'll put feelers out to see if there's any damaged or other singles around but not likely I fear. Buggeration.
