  1. It's true that a lot of the more obnoxious posters are the most frequent posters. Some are really good. When I lost my pannier it was an American guy who contacted me and we did the deal. He very rarely posts.

It's the guys who take any criticism of the brand as a personal insult that actually make me laugh. Not as if they are actually the company owners or anything but the mildest criticism has heaps of opprobrium (big word for shit) piled on your head.

  2. It may well be just me but I find that forums which specialise in one manufacturer eg Ducati and Moto Guzzi are a pain in the arse. These are the only two I have personal experience with but to say that they are a bit sensitive would be an understatement.  You ask a simple question about the brand and its like you've stood up in church and mooned the altar. The flame wars are something to behold and the elder statesmen of the forums give every impression that they have received a personal endorsement from God. Annoyingly in among all the garbage there is the odd nugget of useful information. Maybe it's just these 2 who are like this and other brands are models of information exchange and polite chat. Note banter isn't allowed either.

I had a 100mile trip to my daughter's in Nottingham to celebrate my grandsons 1st birthday.

A full day Saturday of party plus watching the rugby followed by a visit to Twycross Zoo today. Then the 100mile drive home.

    I am knackered.

Sounds like the best kind of weekend to me. Jealous.

Apparently it's very different to the book.

Actually Dune the book is fairly close to the first Dune 1 and from what I've heard it doesn't stray too far from it in the latest film. Like any book to film there's bits missed out but that's almost inevitable.

I enjoyed it. Visually stunning. Well told, well acted epic that doesn't patronise the viewer. David Lynch's 1984 version had a dark almost psychological horror feel to it. This remake has lost a lot of that, although there are some moments. I'd have rated it a 15, rather than a 12A.

Thanks. I was disappointed in the 1984 version although I am a fan of the books and have been for years. I enjoyed Dune 1 and was hoping that the 2nd one would keep up.

Went from fife to Irvine to view a property.

End up coming back home without seeing it because the idiot seller decided to not show up 😡😡😡😡

Would have been a nice ride wasn't the 5c and wind 🥶

Now that would really boil my piss. Its not like you've just nipped round the corner for this. What a twat.

  7. End cans I change anytime and tbh the standard isn't bad. Better than the Ducati's anyway. What I don't like is that bloody fat box of a thing under the bike which is the catalytic converter.  It's hideous and looks naff. Purely vanity. I don't want it louder and any horsepower gain is at most 3 or 4. Hardly dramatic and unlikely to be detectable in the real world.

Oops yes, not for road use, race pipes are loud and obnoxious you don't want those on the road. At the MOT if your tester spotted that he would most likely fail it. But it's still down to your tester who may or may not think it noisy.

Apparently bikes built to be Euro 5 compliant must have a catalytic converter fitted for road use and it is forbidden to remove it. Government sources are pretty hopeless but no surprise there. All the manufacturers' sites I've visited are all stating quite obviously that these cat free systems are for closed track only and not for road use. Some even advise you that fitting them will void your warranty. So I might change the end can but not the whole system. Save me about £500 at least.

You don't have to have a catalytic converter on your motorcycle. Look at the MOT it just says , it should be secure and complete, it's not too noisy. That's from gov.uk.

I changed my whole exhaust on the Yamaha it was just too quiet, now I don't like offensive noise but it changes tone through the rev range, l like that.

Cat's are used to bring emissions down to meet the latest Euro 4 or 5 guidelines for manufacture but motorcycles don't have emission checks at the MOT.

Insurance companies accept change of exhaust as long as they are Not for race use. They do allow cosmetic change.

Ooh. What about the exhaust system saying "not for road use".?

  10. I'm cutting biscuits right out but it's pretty easy as the only options are Oreos (don't like),  Jacobs cream crackers and Ritz crackers. My person in charge of provisioning seems to think this is enough. I don't but as they are on my "eat on pain of death" list it is easy to avoid them.
