Street Triple Luggage

That is true, you would think not having to do a 3h commute anymore would provide that time. Unfortunately there is always something else. -

i have an Oxford one (not sure which one but it might be the Titan). In all honesty i dont use it, at home my bike is stored pretty safe so i dont bother, if the bike is stored for long periods then i use my chain. -

Received a 30l Rhinowalk (£35) bag today. First impressions are that it seems pretty decent quality, loads of mount points and straps, just need to look up how to attach it the best way. @rob m thanks for the suggestion. Also went for a Givi XS306, decided against the ebay one and got a new oner instead. I think these together shoudl see me OK for any small trip i do this year. If not then i will add another Rhinowalk bag. -

i quite like that, i does look very similar to the Kriega stuff. I really like the fact they are almost modular and you can add more to it (including panier style ones. A spanner firmly in the works Rob, thanks. I was set on the Lomo roll bag for the rear but they are always out of stock. I am on a waiting list but not sure how long it will be. -

On the waiting list for a 40l motorcycle dry bag. Also considering the tank bag. -
Thanks for all your input. Went for the UA one in the end, got 10% off so cost just over £61. Still very pricey but "you get what you pay for" they say. - universal XXL case (OP9 is slightly too large for XL) - top clamp adapter, seemed better that the handlebar one for a Triumph STR
-
@bonio my OP9 is almost the same size as yours so the XL is probably the one to go for. I probably just need to bite the bullet

i use a Sena device but Cardo are equally good. You might get away with a cheap option if you are only using it with Pillion as generally they struggle when talking to multiple riders (as the pillion is always close you may be OK). However you may buy twice if you go the cheap route, i would say buy a Sena (or Cardo) then you have that future proof if you ever ride with a friend and want to chat between bikes.

I have been looking at some cheaper options on Amazon Motorbike phone holder mount waterproof single fast connection with with Quick Charger 2.1A Waterproof case with visor suitable for Smartphones up to 7.2" motorcycle phone holder mount: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo I am concerned about the quality of those though, particularly the ones that have a similar click style attachment as the top brands. UA did send me a 10% off code because i have had the order in my basket for so long, still £60 though including delivery.
-
Thanks @bonio , is that the universal case or a purpose built one? If there was a purpose built one for my phone then i may have already bought it by now, i just have concerns about the fit of a generic case. one concern i had was the hassle but i think you have to sacrifice something, either waterproof or ease or use. One reason i am consideriung the soft case option mentioned by Mike. My local J&S has one that looks quite decent and has a neat connection system similar to UA.

Wow that is decent work.
-
Thanks Husoi i agree when its hot a dedicated Sat Nav is probably better at standing up to the heat. Less bothered about power to the phone as a power bank would do the job. When you say DIY waterproof case, what is that? a plastic food bag? My phone is not officially IP67 but versions in the US are officially IP67 and they are surely made in the same factory to the same spec.
-
I have just spotted this on the J&S website, there is one pretty clos eto me so i might see if they have any instore to look at. Not quite what i am looking for but its pretty cheap so might be a good option. Motorcycle Phone & Sat Nav Mounts | J&S Accessories (jsaccessories.co.uk)

thanks for letting me know. I have never been so torn on a purchase before, normally i just jump straight in and sometimes regret it. But the purpose built cases are so expensive these days that i might be overthinking it. I want it to be waterproof so the UA one seems the best option. Really love the look and simplicity of the Beeline but no audio directions really puts me off. Plus using a phone gives you so many options on apps, if you don tlike the Beeline app (routes etc) then you are stuck.

Moving back to London UK - Bike Choice (Curve Ball)
RAYK47 replied to bil_trilton's topic in Motorbike Chat
i think its about the primary use of the bike. Is it a commuter, weekend fun or both? also if you have a garage or secure storage facility (home and work). - commuter then definitely something cheap and small displacement to zip between traffic and have less worries while its parked. - if its fun and you have secure storage then get the Thruxton - if its both then a run of the mill Japanese bike that you see hundreds of, hopefully merge into the background and not be bothered by the scroats. I am not an expert but whatever you choose, good luck. -
Hi Stu No i was meaning the hard case?

thanks for the responses, i will take a look -
Just like buses, i have not posted for ages then two come along at once. Been looking at a sat nav solution but cant decide on what i want. Really like the look and idea of the Beeline but the main thing putting me off is the lack of audio support. I feel its more dangerous as you need to look down more frequently than if you have audio directions as well. SO i am not completely sold on this. So i am thinking about continuing to use my phone but get a decent mount for it. However, i dont have one of the mainstream phones (OnePlus 9) so noone provides a purpose built mount for it, meaning i will need to use the universal mounts. So looked at the following: - RAM looks OK but is very large on the bike when not in use, cases are not waterproof - Ultimate additions looks the best option, cases are waterproof and the mounts look good even when the phone is not on it. So my question is, does anyone have a better option? Does anhyone have a OP9 and use the UA universal case? Does it fit well?

thanks gents, i am not looking for something too pricey. the Kriega stuff looks greatbut comes at a premium. What is the QBag stuff like? Saw this in the reviewed section and for a tenner it seems too good to be true, excellent reviews as well. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/279242 -
Hi all Not been on here for a while but its always my go to place for advice. I am looking to have a few days away on the bike in the summer but i dont want to put a back box or paniers on my STR. I know i can use a backpack and usually do however I was considering a tank bag and/or a pillion bag. Does anyone use one on an STR or have any recommendations or advice? Cant be magnetic. Thanks in advance.
