  1. Thanks Rich I get that the Chinese parts are possibly not the best quality but for the price I feel they might be worth a punt. Just noticed the link I posted are the progressive ones, not sure about those.
  2. Ok I had a small high side and as a result have a broken thumb. Bike has a little damage, right indicator and brake lever is broken. Exhaust has some scratches and some of the plastic is scratched. So I have thought about getting some LED indicators. Amazon has a lot of cheap ones do I thought i might give some a go. Kinstecks [New Version] 4PCS Motorcycle Indicators Flowing Turn Signal Lights Motorbike Turning Indicators Daytime Running Lights Brake Lights 12V for Motorcycle Motorbike https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07T2YR63L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0.S6Db03N990C What are people's thoughts on these?
  3. I take it you dont miss the triple then LTF?
  4. First bike was a Honda CB125F but first "big bike was (and still is) a street triple R. First bike Fist "big" bike
  5. I have one of these TR Turn Raise Motorcycle Phone... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01G3DVW90?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Excellent holder, secure and never let me down.
  6. I think it's a sensible decision. It's a shame your company does not have secure parking. My only concern if it was me is, can I afford a second "fun" bike? I know you can have fun on a CBF and everyone's idea of fun is different but for me I would want something quicker for the weekends. I passed my test on a CBF (albeit a 650) but it feels a very good commuter bike, good seating position and the 500 will certainly be powerful enough for that commute. On another note though i found hard work riding in central London with a geared bike. I was travelling about 35miles so a twist and go was not what I wanted. Depending on your commute maybe a 200-300cc twist and go might be a more comfy commute.
  7. Until I read this I was going to ignore it. However I responded yesterday and low and behold the cash was in my PayPal account this morning. Seamless so far. I have ordered the cover and will review.
  8. I saw an orange BMW 9t and thought it might be you. I went on a test ride of the speed triple. Was a really good day with some excellent bikes. Staff are great there but there are a couple of major issues with it for me: - 1. The ride from my home is awful. All motorways and dual carriageways. 2. The test ride took 15mins to get out of Watford, and 15 to get back in. With a total ride of about 40mins it didn't leave long to use it in the decent roads.
  9. I really fancy the halvarssons gear. I have the gloves and they are great. http://.https://www.bikestop.co.uk/halvarssons-walkyr-laminate-waterproof-jacket
  10. Mine is Matt grey and black. The little bit of red adds a nice touch.
  11. I have 675cc. I don't have a scooter. Seriously though I love R1's, the SP was the screen saver on my computer for years. I am just too old to ride one
  12. I got a minor for not going but I thought it was too risky. Rather have a minor for hesitation than a major for dangerous
  13. I had no issues getting test rides. I hadnt even got my license back either (just showed my pass certificates). Woburn triumph (too far for you, I know) even put me on a brand new RS. If they think you are serious then they will let you ride. Even independent garages were happy to let me test.
  14. I advertised on both, only superbike factory contacted me via autotrader. All other interest came from gumtree.
  15. Yep I had an office for my bike (listed at £1750) within 20 mins of listing it, for £1000. Also superbikeshop rang to offer a derisory sum. Also had the scammers. Percevier as eventually I got a reasonable offer from a fella who was genuinely very excited.
  16. Sorry to hear it fella. You are doing the right thing and going again. I bet you are more confident now though. You have to pin it on the avoidance and just trust the bike.
  17. Test rode an Striple RS at Woburn. Went out for an hour and when I returned there was absolutely no hard sell. They just asked if I had enjoyed it and when I was ready to come back. Dealerships expect test rides, do it and then make up your mind. A good dealership won't pressure you.
  18. My only experience is on a triple R, so I would say get one of those. Light and comfortable, quick enough that you don't get bored within 3 months. I am sure a Fazer, MT07 and an SV650would also be good.
  19. Definitely an April Fool from 2017
  20. How secure is the mount? i.e is it safe to leave on the bike while in a pub etc?
  21. I have bought from SBS a couple of times without issues and sometimes mistakes cannot be helped. For me the real good retails are regarding the aftersales. If they sort the issue quickly and effortlessly then they go up in my estimations. Mistakes are a pitfall of internet shopping, a small price to pay for low prices.
  22. The thing that strikes me most is there are major differences in your choices. A naked and a "shit off a shovel" R1 for starters. Is this because you are not sure of the type of bike you want? I don't have experience with any so can't offer a lot of help really however the one thing I would say is ride them all and decide on the type of bike you want first. Then go looking for those options. Happy hunting.
