  1. i love the idea of the Beeline devices but audio directions are important.
  2. nice one, well done. Good luck with MOD2, personally i felt MOD2 was a lot less pressure, just felt like a leisurely ride with your dad. it is strange how people work under pressure of the cage, overthinking or over cautious. Back when I did mine I had that with the avoidance section, every single practice I was 8 or 9 KPH above the requirement. As soon as I went into the cage I was slightly under the limit. Not enough to fail but I did have to go again on the avoidance (so I assume I was very close to the limit). Second time I did exceed the requirement so I got my pass.
  3. Beauty certainly is in the eyes of the beholder. I agree with all that and they are things I will also miss. The questions around infrastructure and range are all ones I am equally sceptical of. I personally will hold on to ICE power as long as i can but we will be forced that way at some point, whether that is in my biking lifetime i dont know.
  4. Silver ball cafe on the A10 near Royston is a great cafe. decent food and always plenty of bikers wanting a chat. Can get busy though.
  5. Well the factory tour has been cancelled and i will need to rebook. Will probably go for August/September. Still want to do the Cotswolds mini tour and not decided if i do it as part of the original plan or if i do it sometime in July.
  6. i have never ridden an electric bike but i am sure i will enjoy it. Yes some things will feel different/weird but it is something we will be forced to do at some point. On the plus side it is very pretty.
  7. thinking maybe of going off into the Cotswolds, i am a sucker for great scenery. Any recommendations? Couple of days there then onto Hinckley.
  8. Good shout Ian, the planning commences ..........
  9. Hi all, not been on here much but thought i would try to tap into some of the knowledge. All of this is assuming the world is a lot more normal than it is now and B&B's, cafe's etc reopen. I am booked on a Triumph tour on a Sunday in July and have been thinking about turning it into a mini tour, starting on the Friday. Does anyone know if there are any good places to visit around that area? or on the way (from Hertfordshire)? looking for anything interesting, even educational or cultural. Thanks in advance.
  10. Congrats on passing. My first bike was a street triple R. I still love it and can honestly say I don't regret it. Test ride them all and see what fits your style best. It is exciting times shopping for your first big bike.
  11. I bought the Oxford Montreal 3.0 jacket and trousers. Not used them yet but they have decent reviews.
  12. Went to the MCN show on Friday and hoped I might be able to pick up some levers there. However no luck so I ended up ordering the Evotech ones online.
  13. Thanks joeman
  14. thats normal.. it stays there until its read. Oops, in that case @joeman may receive two the same
  15. Thanks fella, are ASV any good? Sports bike shop have a deal on them ATM. Hmm, I have tried sending @joeman a pm but it just sits in my outbox.
  16. Thanks for moving Stu.
  17. Sounds about right but could be less, depending on your practice. I did about 4 months on a CB125F after passing CBT. Then 1.5 days before MOD1 and 0.5 days and MOD 2. However I was riding the 125 quite a lot so got plenty of practice using gears etc. Most of the time I would practice by riding as if on my test. Good luck.
  18. Due to a small off in November I need to replace my front brake lever and right indicator (I think it's just the stem) on a 2015 street triple R. I have been looking around and was thinking of getting some cheaper sets of levers and LED indicators. Indicators I am less concerned about the cheaper ones as long as the reviews are good and there are plenty of them. Although I am thinking of just seeing if I can get a triumph stem (I am sure I have seen them around) due to replacing all indicators with LED's is apparently a real ball ache. However I am having second thoughts on the cheaper levers as I have heard some horror stories about them seizing while riding. Can anyone advise if they are running cheaper levers and their experience with them. I am not looking for £20 levers here just can't really afford £200 pezzo etc. If I can get a decent set for about £60-80 then that may be doable.
  19. I have these and I am happy with them, but I paid £21.99. not sure why they went up so much. High Quality Handlebar End... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LR08MS4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
  20. I remember clicking a random YouTube link of someone doing this on a goldwing. It was pretty amazing.
  21. Bike has gone away, mainly because my thumb needs to heal. Will be Feb by the time I can ride again. Then I need to fix the indicators and brake lever.
  22. I think most dash cams do. I have a blackvue one and it's excellent.
  23. some great advice here chaps, thanks.
  24. No intention of meeting up with the Mrs.
  25. Cheers fella. Didn't realise that. I like the sound of your northern France suggestion
