  1. I guess I am effeminate, or prefer the steering position and smaller engine (due to inexperience and insurance costs)
  2. As I have not passed my DAS yet and therefore never owned a "big" bike. I can only give one side of the story. I have a CB125F and it rides very well, however it does seem twitchy sometimes in wet or if the road is in a bad state of repair. When I go out with my dad he does not seem to have any such worries on his Bonneville speed master. I assume that is due to the more planted feel of a larger heavier bike. Just to add that on the flip side the lack of power and acceleration probably means a 125 is more forgiving
  3. Ok I know I am jumping the gun a little bearing in mind I have not passed my DAS yet. However I can't stop looking at "big" bikes. And as I always take ages making up mind, maybe it's time to start thinking. I am hoping to have a budget of about £4k and will want to use it for commuting 30miles into the city of London, so needs to comply with ULEZ rules. Plus I will want to have some weekend fun so not all sensible. I like the naked look so have been thinking of the following: - - MT-07 - SV650 - CB650F But what I really really want is a triple. I have fallen in love with them. Am I being stupid considering a triple as a first big bike? The reviews are great and although £4k will mean older or higher mileage than the others. Once I pass I do intend to go on some test rides to make sure they are right.
  4. My MOD2 is on the 12th April so with any luck I will be done before then. Good luck for the 13th
  5. Had a Honda vision when I was 16 (1990), crashed it first day I got it and dislocated my shoulder. I guess I am cutting my teeth now on my CB125F. My MOD1 in a few weeks will be on a CB650. Embarrassingly I can't remember the car I learnt to drive in, it might have been an astra.
  6. Cheers all. Seems a long time to wait and I am very impatient. Oh well I have longer to practice I guess.
  7. cheers gents. seems such a long wait until MOD1 on April 8th. Just going to spend as much time as a i can on my 125 to practice,
  8. Theory passed this morning. I think i only scraped the hazard perception though. But a pass is a pass
  9. You have become the first person I have subscribed to on YouTube.
  10. Practice in your garden. That's a big garden you have.
  11. That is a smart looking camera. Battery life is usually a concern for me though.
  12. I have not come across any in the practices but I would like to think they will warn of that.
  13. Thanks. I have been limiting to 4 or 5 clicks to get into the habit.
  14. Thanks Brad All the practices I have done, I also seem to click too early. At first I didn't realise you can click multiple times so was doing terrible. However since knowing that I have now been getting mostly 5s in my practice. Will see what happens. Even though I am passing ever practice I am crapping it really. I have never had to do anything like this before.
  15. Nice one. They make a big difference. Tbh I don't use my heated grips often but it's nice to know the are there if I need them
  16. Well it's all booked Theory - 21st Feb Training - 5th April Mod1 - 8th April Mod2 - 16th April (editted as incorrect date added)
  17. Thanks, there are some difficult questions there. My dad's book is the motorcycle one as he did his test at the end of last year.
  18. Cheers, I think my dad already has one he is going to lend me. I have already done a couple of online ones and so far done really well. Hazard perception is hit and miss. Kept doing it too early and getting nil points.
  19. Went to book the 7th but it had gone. Managed to get the 21st Feb instead.
  20. Cheers gents. I am leaning towards the 25th now as I am working all week and won't have a lot of time to swat up. Might be better to give myself time.
  21. Must admit it is playing on my mind a little. I am a driver but too old to have had to worry about a theory test, I was just asked questions by the examinor at the end of the drive. My daughter took 4 attempts on her driving theory though. Torn wether to give myself time to swat up or time for a retest. I don't really want to have to postpone the practical. No reason apart from I am impatient.
  22. Thanks, my concern with the later date was it does not give me much time to rebook if I fail. Although it gives me longer to be ready.
  23. Cheers fella. Looking to book with Norton way Honda in Letchworth. Passed my CBT with them and they were very good. But this may depend on availability. Anyone else have any advise on who to take it with in North Herts area.
