Bought a pair of Keis inner gloves as my hands are the only part of my body that are feeling the cold. It was 0 degrees at 6:30 this morning when I left for work. I was hoping for great things from these gloves. However I was disappointed in the temperature, I had it on high setting all the time and where my hands were not cold they were not toastie, which was what I hoped. No need for any other setting really. Can anyone else confirm that this is normal for these gloves. Or are mine just too weak?

mine also snapped but not in the same place, i did buy another from them but i am not using the UA USB port any more, changed to one with a switch

i went for the first time this year and it was amazing (obviously i cant comment on how its changed from the 80's), the weather obviously played a huge part in it but it was great. The locals are friendly, the police leave you alone (unless you actually do something wrong). The mountain course is so much fun to ride, and now it is one way for the entirety of the TT timetable it is a lot better. No more mad Sunday carnage and quite quiet at some times.

Scrapped the idea of a cafe in Liverpool. Opted for a stop in the peak District instead at the yonderman cafe in Buxton. I think I made the right choice it is beautiful here
-
Thanks, I did see that one. Does it take long to get to the docks from there
-
Thanks for the advice. I am coming from the peak District area. There seems to be a couple in and around the Wirral area. Bear pit cafe or the seaside cafe. Are any in this area worth a try Just want somewhere safe I can sit outside with a brew

Does anyone know of a biker cafe in or around Liverpool, Google has not suggested much. On the way to IOM today and would like a stop off before boarding the ferry.

thanks to everyone for the advice, really useful.

thanks for all the help Ian

i see, wont i have to splice into the cable though? I know i will f*** that up.
-
Thanks Ian so you mean adding a separate inline switch?

Hi all What is the best and simplest way to add the USB port to my bike (2015 Street Triple R) as I am going to IOM in a couple of weeks and will need a good source of power for SatNav on my phone. I have an Ultimate addons USB socket but I don't want to wire it directly to my battery (mainly as it has a blue LED that is always on and i don't want it to drain the battery). I am not the most handy person so I need a simple fix, I don't want to be having to splice into wires for example as I will mess it up. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Apologies for not responding but you are correct, it seems it's a lithium charger. I feel very stupid and this probably explains why I sometimes get errors reported. I was given it a long time ago and it didn't occur to me it was a lithium one, plus it used to work fine. For the time being I am just going to leave it disconnected, it's getting warmer now and will get a lot more use as well.

thanks gents, i will try that and reconnect it to test

Hi all Went to my bike on Sunday to check it over before my commute to the office this morning and there was absolutely no power, not even a drop. I have an optimate 472 always connected but the bike had not been used for about 3 or 4 weeks. However the optimate has been showing a flashing red light which optimate say could be a break in the connection. I always put the error down to the fact that I have a ultimate add-ons USB port directly connected to the battery, the port has a blue LED that I thought might be why the errors were showing so thought nothing much of it. So I bought. New yuasa battery and disconnected the USB ports. I then put the optimate back on and it is still showing a red flashing LED. Can anyone help with what could be the problem, my only thoughts are the optimate being faulty combined with the LED draining the and the very che cold weather we have been having killed the battery. I would like to reconnect the USB but I am concerned that it is causing issues.

I saw this jacket a couple of years ago and instantly wanted one, however the price and that i had only recently bought a textile set meant it was not the right time. However since then they have become a lot more difficult to find new as Dainese have obviously discontinued it, this made me want one even more so a couple of months agoi decided that i was going to get one "no matter what" and it had to be the one in the pic not the black one. I found one online at sports bike shop for a very respectful £338, just to add they were excellent. I went to the store to try on similar jackets and to try a Dainese leather for size. As per dainese it did not come with a back protector but managed to get one from Wheels in Peterborough. My first impressions were that it was even more stunning in the flesh than in the pictures, the "white" is actually a cream colour and it looks great. the look is quite retro and i think as the leather ages it will probably improve the look of the jacket. I have worn it a couple of times and it is very comfortable and warm, not worn in the rain yet to check waterproofness but it is leather so i would expect it to be pretty decent. If i have one criticism that is the neck area is a little uncomfortable when done fully up and can dig in a little when sitting certain ways. The leather is still a bit firm and hopefully that will soften up a little over time. overall a great jacket, does anyone else have one? what are your opinions?

Isle of Man Tourist Trophy 2023 .. my first visit to the TT / Island.

Sadly i fear you are correct and that it will either be scrapped or dumbed down so much that the interest is lost. We will be sitting down with our grand children reminiscing about the "greatest road race in the world", then getting on our electric bike and commuting on the 20Mph roads to work. -

i am also going for the first time this year but left it very late. Only able to get to the first few days practice due to family commitments but this is my taster session ready for next year or 2025. Enjoy Going on my Street Triple and staying in a B&B (includes a full breakfast) -
Street Triple Luggage

Panniers definitely better but I don't want to put panniers on my bike as I think it will look silly, plus I commute to Docklands and need to be slim to get through traffic. -

Only used it half a dozen times but so far so good. It fits nicely to the bike and holds a lot of stuff. Not been out in a major downpour but was caught in a shower and everything was bone dry. Well worth it in my humble opinion. -
went up a little to £124, still happy with that though.

Beeline Moto any good?

I fancied one of these and looked into it a few months ago and was sooo close to getting one. The only issue i had with it was the lack of voice support, with the simplistic display i felt that voice was a must. I did contact them and although they have not committed to adding it, they did infer that it may be in the pipeline. Most people moan that if you have more than one turn very close to each other it can be hard to figure out which is correct, yes there is a count down in distance but may require some getting used to. So instead i invested in an ultimate addons phone case and am sticking with phone directions for now. If they add audio then i am sure i will be in for one again. -
renewal time on the 27th April so need to start looking. Last years (with commuting) was £108.64 with Triumph on my 2015 Street Triple 675R. Renewal not come through yet though but i am expecting an increase (probably because of COVID )

It wasnt today, and i didnt actually do it. However, my STR had a 6k mile service last week. Big thank you to Woburn Triumph, excellent service as always. All ready for the warmer weather.
