  1. i have never ridden an electric bike but i am sure i will enjoy it. Yes some things will feel different/weird but it is something we will be forced to do at some point. On the plus side it is very pretty.
  2. thinking maybe of going off into the Cotswolds, i am a sucker for great scenery. Any recommendations? Couple of days there then onto Hinckley.
  3. Good shout Ian, the planning commences ..........
  4. Hi all, not been on here much but thought i would try to tap into some of the knowledge. All of this is assuming the world is a lot more normal than it is now and B&B's, cafe's etc reopen. I am booked on a Triumph tour on a Sunday in July and have been thinking about turning it into a mini tour, starting on the Friday. Does anyone know if there are any good places to visit around that area? or on the way (from Hertfordshire)? looking for anything interesting, even educational or cultural. Thanks in advance.
  5. Congrats on passing. My first bike was a street triple R. I still love it and can honestly say I don't regret it. Test ride them all and see what fits your style best. It is exciting times shopping for your first big bike.
  6. I bought the Oxford Montreal 3.0 jacket and trousers. Not used them yet but they have decent reviews.
  7. Went to the MCN show on Friday and hoped I might be able to pick up some levers there. However no luck so I ended up ordering the Evotech ones online.
  8. thats normal.. it stays there until its read. Oops, in that case @joeman may receive two the same
  9. Thanks fella, are ASV any good? Sports bike shop have a deal on them ATM. Hmm, I have tried sending @joeman a pm but it just sits in my outbox.
  10. Sounds about right but could be less, depending on your practice. I did about 4 months on a CB125F after passing CBT. Then 1.5 days before MOD1 and 0.5 days and MOD 2. However I was riding the 125 quite a lot so got plenty of practice using gears etc. Most of the time I would practice by riding as if on my test. Good luck.
  11. Due to a small off in November I need to replace my front brake lever and right indicator (I think it's just the stem) on a 2015 street triple R. I have been looking around and was thinking of getting some cheaper sets of levers and LED indicators. Indicators I am less concerned about the cheaper ones as long as the reviews are good and there are plenty of them. Although I am thinking of just seeing if I can get a triumph stem (I am sure I have seen them around) due to replacing all indicators with LED's is apparently a real ball ache. However I am having second thoughts on the cheaper levers as I have heard some horror stories about them seizing while riding. Can anyone advise if they are running cheaper levers and their experience with them. I am not looking for £20 levers here just can't really afford £200 pezzo etc. If I can get a decent set for about £60-80 then that may be doable.
  12. I have these and I am happy with them, but I paid £21.99. not sure why they went up so much. High Quality Handlebar End... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LR08MS4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
  13. I remember clicking a random YouTube link of someone doing this on a goldwing. It was pretty amazing.
  14. Bike has gone away, mainly because my thumb needs to heal. Will be Feb by the time I can ride again. Then I need to fix the indicators and brake lever.
  15. I think most dash cams do. I have a blackvue one and it's excellent.
  16. some great advice here chaps, thanks.
  17. No intention of meeting up with the Mrs.
  18. Cheers fella. Didn't realise that. I like the sound of your northern France suggestion
  19. Cheers all. As u said the intention is not to ride to Portugal. That was being considered as a fly and hire option only.
  20. In case I didn't make it clear. The intention is not to go to Portugal if I use my own bike. I was thinking of across into the Netherlands then down into Germany and back through France.
  21. So, the Mrs is looking to go away with a friend during may half term. I am looking at a possible bike trip to cover the same period. It's early days but looked at a trip to a warmer country (ie Portugal) and hiring a bike for 5 or so days. However this is very expensive so I might look to use my own bike and start at Calais. Does anyone have any ideas? Have you done it before? Any recommendations? Advise etc? Looking at about 7 days in may. Would be good to do it relatively cheaply and catch some decent sights on the way
  22. They look good. Definitely going to give these a go. All be it once my hand heals.
  23. Thanks all. For about £26 you can get the indicators, resisters and relay. So still a fairly cheap option. Also need some levers. Tbh I wanted to replace the stock ones anyway so they are a bit large. Again want some cheaper alternatives that will not interfere with the bar end mirrors (turned inwards as I need to get through my side gate).
