As i posted in the other thread ..... I'm proposing a meet up and ride out round a good route here in sunny Dumfries, some great roads from mega twisys to long sweeping roads, not a short run either taking more than 3 hrs without stops !! I plan to meet at Abington Services, as its kinda in the middle at Junction 13 on the M74 http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/DannyB81666/route.png POINT H is also Point A ... Postcode of the meeting and end points is ML12 6RG if you wanna see how far it is from you. Full Google Maps link HERE If your interested, please post here and also which day is best for you (sat/sun) .... also if you have any suggestions on a route. Nothing set in stone here, and its only gonna happen if theres enough interest anyway!

HAhah WF ! Ya ant just assume the guys blinding everyone on purpose ! are you simply starting the bike, running on full beam, then turning the engine off ? if so ... the bike doesnt have enough time to put enough energy back into the battery to keep it topped up from the energy its used starting the engine in the first place, so its bound to get low. It may be something else, tbh, but it usually takes a good 15 mins to replace the power used to start the bike

Battery was flat again this mornin!! Took it off and stuck it back on charge (optimate), the charger is saying that the battery is fine now all charged and no need to replace. I'm begining to think that the 12v wiring is to blame, I've disconnected it for now. Had a look at the inline fuse and it was rusting so water is deffo getting into the 12v wires, that's possibly shorting it ... Will see how it runs with it disconnected.

We Really need to get a meet up organised ! theres loads of us now Out of interest, who would fancy a run round a route in dumfriesshire ? we could all meet up at Abington services on the M74, that way its central-ish to most of us ? Just to see if this is worth a punt ... anyone whos interested, can you post with what day suits you best (sat/sun) Let see if we can make summat happen. If theres enough interest, i'll make a thread ehh

I have no idea how old the battery is tbh, ive owned the bike for 2 months ish ... ? but it could be an old battery Doesnt have an allarm but i do have a 12v socket wired up ... but its through a relay (as per Dans guide) connected to the light circuit, so this shouldnt drain the battery I dont seem to have that parking light switch on the ignition .. i'll double check though cos it wouldnt suprise me lol I hope its not stuffed, how much are new batteries (decent ones) ?

Went to start the bike this mornin and it was just a bit sluggish ... tried to start it for 10 mins with it hardly ticking over ... battery dead as a dodo Its been sat for 4 days just. I'll get the battery out today after work and get it on charge ... but surely the battery should hold a charge for more than 4 days ehh ?

I always chew gum, used to make sure i had some for my lessons etc and MOD1, 2 ... otherwise i get a dry mouth.

No you wont, and if your instructor did laugh, then he'd be the nugget ! If you fall off and you've got yer leathers on youll be alot better off than if your wearing jeans etc.

I did as polecat said ... If it helps any, try to imagine a really fast push bike trying to under take you as your approaching the turn ... lifesaver just to make sure hes not there

The lock on sports bikes is shite compared to normal bikes, so doing the mod1 on your CBR125 might not be the best idea ... I'd say youd be better to loan a bike from a school rather than use your CBR, that of course means that youd need to do get a practice ru n on the bike first too.

Doesnt it have diagrams kemple ? might be hard to follow if your not electrically minded lol but i'd expect that youll have to splice a few wires in the ignition.

Been working on a route with regular stops for fuel and bum cheek breaks ... Last parts robbed from WF's route their taking on friday. CG125 had a lock there too ..... Your clocks have been changed on that bike if i remember rightly ? Sounds like they may have replaced the ignition lock at the same time ... so the steering lock will be a different key (one you wont have any more ....) so its non existant .. Buy a disk lock mate and/or a chain

I would always advise that people should ride through the tunnel .... riding into the tunnel may be sore and lead to broken bones n stuff Serously though ... no much worse than a tinted visor really, 2 mins change time is quicker than stopping and changing from clear to tinted visors ... no ?
