  1. Makita here as well, must be pushing 5 years old. It's been used purely for work drilling steel up to 13mm. It is however an expensive one, £333 inc VAT but well worth the money! We use Bosch Hammer drills and Grinders and they're great. I'd recommend spending a bit extra and get a Bosch Blue drill, they're the professional range.
  2. Translation: OP is admin on various groups, one of which is private or hidden so only people who are invited to join it can see the posts. This causes a problem when they want to share an upcoming event so the OP created another group just for this purpose, people have started joining said page and the OP is wondering how popular it will become.
  3. 'Twas only a joke, but just remember this is a public forum and it's not hard for someone with the right skill set to find your address. I travel all over the place for work so unless you're in a different country I've probably been nearby at some point. That's a hefty hike in insurance! Is that for all 3 bikes or just one? Seems crazy that insurance companies are allowed to charge whatever they want. Back on topic my bike used to have a ground anchor with chain and a disc lock, plus it was covered every night and as you're from Norwich you'll probably know Larkman isn't the best area
  4. Thanks for the detailed info, it'll make my life a lot easier! ...now where's my gps jammer

    CBR125 2004 Problem

You sound pretty handy with a spanner from what I've read. Next time change the chain and sprockets yourself, it's really simple. As for tyre changes remove the wheel and take it to the shop, it should cost around £20 if you provide the tyre.
  6. Only registered on a bike specific forum other than this one. Sometimes visit BCF when it shows up on a google search, but very rarely ( I promise Stu!). Stumbled across this forum many many years ago when I was looking into buying a bike and was just looking for advice really, I found it and stuck around. Many people have come and gone since then which is a shame but equally a lot of new people have joined and stuck around so swings and round abouts. Generally I like the atmosphere on here and everyone just seems to get on. Yes there's some banter thrown about but we all know it's light hearted. This forum is a credit to the owners and moderators who keep it the way it is so thanks to them for all the hard work.
  7. I've had iPhones since the 3GS, I did at one point switch to a HTC with Windows but really didn't like it so went back to an iPhone. Right now I have an iPhone 6 which is doing well considering it got run over, the back is all dented and there's some white pressure points on the screen but other than that it's still going strong. I also have a Samsung J5 which I use as a work phone as I always had trouble opening attachments on my iPhone. The J5 isn't a great phone, a bit slow and freezes quite often. I'm now considering upgrading both phones, the Pixel is a definite contender and also the S7. Would I stick with an iPhone? I'm not sure!
  8. Yeah I often wonder that! But peoples priorities change! It's a shame, a lot of nice people have come and gone over the years. I'm still awaiting the return of the legend that is Colin the bear.
  9. A lot of familiar names on there, I do wonder what happened to a lot of them.

    Van insurance

I looked into getting a crew cab vivaro/Trafic/primastar and insurance was £3k+ that was with SDP+C 15,000 miles. And I'd need it for work so would have to have business insurance but after seeing that price I never bothered looking.
  11. I drive a lot for work and there's so many middle lane hoggers on the roads! It's unbelievable really, do they think it's a lorry lane or something? I've had people flash me for undertaking when they're doing 60 in the middle lane.

    Would you go?

Had surgery yesterday, one titanium plate and six screws which I have the pleasure of keeping forever. Looking at 6 weeks before I can put weight on it again plus a few more weeks getting used to walking on it again so I'd say I'm out of action for the next 2-3 months. Should be going "home" today although it'll be back to the hotel then I have to figure out how to get my car and tools home. Had a lot of support from the company where it happened and also the managing director and project manager from the company I sub contract too flew out here yesterday to visit myself and the factory. From what I've heard the company are trying to blame me for the accident! Bullshit! The steel beam was moved and put on wooden blocks, then the driver was supposed to reverse slightly and pick it up again to move it closer to the wall however he we too far back and picked it up with the tips of his forks and it tipped off the wood onto my feet. Nothing I could've done, he lifted it incorrectly without me telling him it was okay to do so. Got to talk with the company I sub too in a few days once I've had time to get over the operation. EDIT: my spelling is atrocious!

    Would you go?

Well I got the details, the job is in Caesarea and starts on the 27th of this month however someone managed to tip over a steel support beam that was meant to be installed in the factory I'm currently working. That happened to land on my feet, luckily my steel toe cap saved my right foot but my left took the full weight of it and I've broken it. Going for an op tomorrow as the bone has moved, looking at a plate and screws and possibly pins. Excellent!

    Would you go?

We usually get economy plus, which means more leg room but that's it. Every body is watching the pennies now a days so I highly doubt we'll fly business. I'll have to fly to the factory in Germany first for a meeting then fly from there the next day with some of the other guys.

    Would you go?

Might be disappointed there as don't think he has one currently, when are you going to rectify that Adam? Surely soon? Of course Six, but as Ollie said I don't have one at the moment so you'd have to buy me one before I go. That means if I come back I get to keep it, deal? Probably not until next year Ollie, saving for a house sucks! All that money in the bank but can't spend a penny Anyway back on topic. Decided I'm going to go, just got to wait for further details on location and exact dates now. If it's in a bad area I'll turn it down! It's not somewhere I'd ever considered going but I would be stupid to give up the opportunity to go there for free and get paid at the same time. Now time to convince them to give me the job in Australia!

    Would you go?

Not got any details in terms of exact location, however I can find out. It's only for 10 days so not very long.. I have a 3 year old son so obviously I don't want to put myself in unecccesary risk for the sake of some money. To be honest there's usually other guys that do the more high risk countries, however they're all busy elsewhere which is why I've been asked. We're installing a material transport conveyor system - infeed and outfeed of a new machine which means other companies are already out there so I'd presume it's safe. Think I'll have to sleep on it.
  17. The company I subcontract too have asked me if I want to do a job in Israel at the end of September. Just after some advise or personal experiences of the country, mainly is it safe? Would you go? I don't have to go but being a sub means no money.
  18. Filtered down the bypass myself yesterday bout 6pm. Very wet so trying to avoid the cats eyes. Majority of people aware of me and kindly moving over. So many oblivious and texting / drifting into the centre line. Yeah hate riding on the bypass. Why does every tom dick and harry sit in the outside lane doing 50ish, 55 if your lucky, then never move over even in light traffic? Pretty standard behaviour on our roads I'm afraid, if they're really taking the piss I'll just move over to the inside lane and go past them. As we've had many discussions about it before on here it's not illegal to "undertake". What also pisses me off is when you're joining a motorway/dual carriage way and the car in front does 40mph on the slip road!!
  19. Could be a wrong bulb drawing too much power, so once you narrow it down take the bulb out and check if it's the correct one. I once put a xenon bulb in my WR, it worked fine however every time I stopped the bike would cut out. It was a 100W bulb, standard is 55W as soon as I swapped it back the problem was solved.

    Overheated?

As EAB said get them to collect it and leave you a courtesy bike. With that low mileage it's not your problem to sort out.
  21. Is this the one? http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-lights-locks/bike-locks/magnum-plus-magrok-ground-anchor" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; If so the plastic is just a cover so the hook is flush and safe to drive and walk over.
  22. I know a few people that ride 125's in full gear, it's commendable.
  23. A new HT lead would be my next move. Have you checked the plug and made sure it's clean and pushed in properly? If that doesn't solve it I'd give the fuel tank breather a good clean, if it's blocked it can cause a vacuum in the tank thus starving the bike of fuel however at high revs it'll be alright. I had a similar issue with my old bike and it was a blocked fuel tank breather.
  24. To be honest without video footage chances are it'll go 50/50 (that's just my opinion). I'd find those details and give him a call and agree to pay half so £102, in the long run it'll be a lot cheaper for both of you incomparison to claiming on insurance. Don't forget you need to declare any accidents fault or non fault for the next 5 years thus increasing your premium.
