Some gloves come with palm sliders which are supposed to take the impact and abrasion from an off but you only tend to see them on more expensive pairs. I find a car lulls you into a false sense of security, today it was raining pretty hard but of course in a car it didn't really bother me however on my bike id be super cautious because of the higher risk but those risks are still there in a car but they don't seem so obvious. The field of vision is definitely something I don't like all them blind spots and the fact you can't see where you are in terms of road positioning. I think the fact I've been on the road before and know how people act has helped me as I haven't been nervous at all I've just driven. Did some reverse parking today, done it twice going right and once going left and got it spot on both times, I think driving a forklift helped me there!

I had my first driving lesson yesterday and done about 25 miles which he said is unheard of for a first lesson, I think my riding experience really helped me with the gears and general road experience. A car seems massive compared to a bike though and the view is so restricted, it's just reinforced my desire to get another bike as a toy and use the car as a work horse.

Could it be the fuel tank breather is partially blocked and when it rains it blocks it completely creating a vacuum in the tank?

To test compression put your thumb over the sparkplug hole and press the starter button there should be enough force to push your thumb away. If both are fine pour some petrol into the spark plug hole and replace the plug and try and start it, if it starts you have a problem with fuelling.

That rules out the battery then, check the side stand switch connections they'll be the wire that goes to the side stand. If that doesn't work check the spark by removing the spark plug and place it on the frame with the ht lead attached and press the started button it should spark a nice blue colour. P.s. Have you got any petrol?

If you think it's electrical spray the offending area with wd40 it will disperse any water. When bump starting the bike you need to put it in gear and run with it and release the clutch then pull it back in as soon as the bike fires into life.

I have RST jacket, trousers, and gloves. Can't fault them after two years riding all year round and they're still in one piece, the waterproofing does wear off after a while so you need to reapply a spray version which is about £6. Mine both have the thermal lining which is great however on really cold days I'd suggest another layer underneath -1 at 60 is a lot colder than you think! I've melted mine on my down pipes on the knees and legs which I've sewn up and it's holding nicely. All in all they're good value for money and id highly recommend them.

Question is are they actually legal? I was always under the impression it has to be white light at the front and red at the back Orange on the sides.

What's the chain tension like?

Different bulbs can have different wattages still so although it may seem the easy option it isn't always. Try swapping the bulbs from the old indicators into the new ones?

Firstly if you continuously try and start an engine you'll just flood it and it won't start because of that, in future try a couple of times and leave it for 10 minutes to let the petrol evaporate. Now to the problem.. Have you got petrol? Petrol tap turned on/reserve? Have you got spark? Has it been really cold where you are? Kill switch active? Was it in neutral?

I've had the same on my bike, all the lights stop working and so does the dash and it was the fuse... Have you checked the new fuse to make sure that hasn't blown? It could be you're popping fuses due to a fault somewhere in the loom.

I'd start by adjusting the clutch cable.

Start simple, check the fuse.

Just do what I do and wrap some rope around the bike, I go from the handle bar around the mud guard over the seat and under the bike, I then wrap the rest around the foot peg and tie it up, if I had a longer piece id go around the back as well but it stops the wind being able to lift the cover.

Took me a lot longer than an hour to get the the cambs meet on my 125 from Norwich, but I didn't go every week. Try Facebook for local bikers there's a few groups here that do regular ride outs and meet so i guess there will be something similar.

Sounds similar to what happened to my bike when I had water in the fuel, it would start and idle fine and would even ride until I opened the throttle more then it would splutter and not much would happen. Turned out to be a blocked fuel cap drain so water was collecting around the cap and then when I opened it the water dribbled in. Might not be the problem but once the water passes through the engine the bike will be fine afterwards.

Well you need 3 main things to start the bike, a spark, fuel, and air. I'd start by changing the fuel, although it doesn't sound fuel related but it could be contaminated, secondly a new air filter will allow the bike to breathe more freely. Check the Haynes for the carb screw settings and put it all back to standard and work from there. If the bike has a fuel tap make sure it's turned to OFF when the bike is left over night etc this will stop any fuel dribbling into the carb.

Right guys and girls in starting a new job at the end of the month and will be paying my own tax & NIC (national insurance contributions) how do I go about it? I won't be self employed as I'll be working for someone so I'm not sure how it all works. I've been advised to get an accountant but again I'm not sure how any of it works and how much should I expect to pay for one? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

eBay will be cheaper but if you can afford too go to a local shop and support them. When choosing a set get one with a D.I.D chain they're arguably the best on the market.
