    Brake disks

That's orders placed. Won't mention how much the full set is costing... Unless I can get a crowdfunding Items to arrive hopefully 1st Nov or there about. Pics of the worn bits posted tomorrow.
  2. Very good morning from sunny (not yet) Scotland
  3. I always prefer to solder than crimping although I know some defend crimping is better. Ideally, crimp and solder after to make sure nothing goes anywhere. A small crimping pliers would to the trick for small contacts
  4. HEY!!!! Who are you calling dinosaur? Were all wise men
  5. Guys, I think soon we all going to get instructions from @janinej
  6. 2 stroke engines don't need valves because they work differently from 4 stroke engines. 2 stroke are much easier and cheaper to maintain although they don't have the same power as the 4 stroke ones. The number of strokes are the piston's movements during a combustion cycle.
  7. Shims are like spacing disks applied in the valves to adjust the gap. The valves are in the piston head and they regulate the mix intake and exhaust fumes outlet
  8. Very good morning gorgeous And everybody else
  9. You can find a decent external micrometer in either AliExpress or dhgate websites. Digital calliper can be temperamental and return very different measurements one after the other as it rely on movement of the little wheel. Micrometer is far more complex and accurate. Play attention because you have 2 types. Internal and external micrometer.
  10. If you go to Portugal I can assure you that you're better off just stick with English than trying to be a smart @rse and confuse everybody. Years ago, some poor english guy was trying to ask for direction to Portimao and I couldn't understand a word of what he was saying. Until he gave up and asked in English
  11. I never had a problem with countries that I don't speak the language. Even one time in Poland where the owner of the restaurant didn't know a word of English (or any of the ones I can speak) and I don't know a word in Polish. I still managed to get a delicious meal Maybe because I know sign language. Well, more pointing language

    Brake disks

Yes @janinej most of us do our own maintenance and repairs.
  13. Being in Scotland I will get the Hull/Rotterdam ferry and arrive next morning fully rested. The difference between Rotterdam and Calais is about 2 hours ride and well worth it because I don't ride down to Dover. Last time Icheck the cost of the ferry directly to Spain is more than what you will spend riding. In the north, you want to go over the Pyrenees from San Sebastian down to Barcelona. An incursion to north of Portugal (Peneda Geres and then to Braganca)

  15. Spain have the best roads in Europe. Tarmac is second to none and really smooth. Keep in mind, Summer in Spain can go as high as 43c in centre and south areas. Mediterranean coastline is over populated (in my opinion) and expensive. You would get a good deal in countryside small places about 10 miles from the coast. Then you have the jellyfish at least twice a day in the sea. North area is not so hot and really nice twisted roads. much prone to rain than the south. Still a great place for touring.
  16. I get a lot less wet since I waterproof my 2 piece suit with some marine waterproofing liquid. It stinks, you won't be able to use for a couple weeks until the smell disappears, but boy if it works. DO NOT apply indoors (You have been warned)!!!!! 1 bottle is more than enough to treat both the jacket and trousers.
  17. The pipes will be normally hot when the engine is running. It will hardly get wet unless the bike is left out in the rain. The heat will prevent the wraps to get soaking wet, if wet at all.
  18. Aye At least on Android, not sure about the dark side.
  19. Yes it is. They are quite common on cruisers and I know of some guys with them riding all year round.

  21. Hey everybody I don't like this at all.... Before I had the excuse the forum's website wasn't working well on my phone. Then @Stu decided to create the TMBF app.... WWWHHYYYYYYYY?????? What excuse am I going to have now?
  22. That's exactly how it was removed from the bike. Not sure if the black cover is just a protection that can be replaced with some shrink tube. Will report once I get the chance to work on it.
