Yes, I agree with this...You seem to have got it covered - (I failed mine a few times because I tried to ride as I thought they wanted) Just ride your usual natural way... important to keep your distances safe, don't cause probs for yourself or any other road users and enjoy going for a nice positive ride. Also if you do think you have made a small error....it probably hasnt failed you..could be a pass with just a minor so dont worry about it just carry on enjoying the ride out Good luck

Just a few thoughts- Is your fuel tank breather pipe clear? ie make sure no vacumn in tank..... open tank cap to make sure and try again with it opened... if you turn it over without the plug in, does it emit fuel vapour from cylinder?
-
yes, also worth checking your getting a live feed out of the switch when its on main beam and the dip switch itself It does sound like a poor contact somewhere

Did you make 100% sure your battery is okay and able to hold a charge..thats the place to start if you take the battery off and charge the battery up and is it okay for a while? or does it stay nearly flat? if battery can hold its charge then look towards electrical connections and then the alternator/generator probably best to try the simpler cheaper things first....... good luck

Good luck with the figure of eight.... Its also worth knowing that when making the turn around the top cone feel free to take a little larger turning circle topside of it to allow you to come back in close to that cone giving you max space for the next cone/turn.

Did your 'light' just cut out straight away or slowly get dimmer and dimmer. Was it all your lights or just your headlight? I would have thought if it was the alternator it 'your light' and all your lights would have got slowly dimmer and indicators matbe even slower if only the headlight cut out and instantly it could be something else

1. you need to be sure your battery is good and strong for turning the engine over 2 worthwhile pre heating a couple of times before trying to start in this cold weather 3 be sure you topped it up with diesel 4 sometimes water in an online fuel filter can freeze in these conditions if all else fails try a spray of some 'Easy start' in the air filter then turn it over

Ideally you may be better getting same drive size to suit the torque wrench you have then you will be able to use any sockets with the torque wrench also as has already been mentioned make sure its metric (unless your working on an old british bike)

Just an idea if you are thinking of going it alone...visit the test centre on a day they are doing Mod 1's you will can the course and watch others doing it..then go away and practice..and as, has already been said...observations all the time as if you are 'on the road' They are looking for slow control, ie u turns, slalom, figure of eight and the emergency stop. Also worth looking more at what the 50kph swerve avoidance test involves

you mentioned that the 'plugs where done when the valve was lubed' so it is still possible that that is also the reason it ran okay for a while too....and still possible your plugs could be getting fouled up due to a over rich mix or some such thing due to doing your steady low revs riding........do things improve if you keep the revs up for a good while? - worth a try as it sounds like it needs the more occasional blast!
-
Good Luck... and enjoy the ride

It might be worth checking and eliminating some of the obvious causes such as condition of the plugs and leads first. I'd also check that the vacumn pipe from the carb is free and not kinked as well and the same with the tank breather pipe. Next I dont even know what an ex up valve is..but if lubricating it last time seemed to cure the problem then it could be prone to sticking and need looking at again....is it something that can be serviced/replaced ie given more thorough attention?

you can ride and take your mod 1 and 2 on a 125cc independently of a MC school or with a school... once you have passed your mod 1 and 2 on the 125....you can only ride any bike with a bhp below 33 for the first 2 years....after 2 years you can ride what you like (for example if you took your test mod 1 and 2 on a 100cc bike or a 50cc twist and go you couldnt ride a bike up to 33 bhp for the following 2 years) -

Best way to do the theory test is get the practice DVD's and keep taking the practice tests...seeing what answers you get wrong and learn the few if any that you' re weak on plus the dvd also allows you to practice the hazhard perception test as well till you know what works best After you have done that you won't have a problem. There is a set of DVD's doing the rounds on here somewhere? -

Of course you could just do the cbt and ride around on a 125 with 'L's on for a few months then have a lesson or two just before you take your test. If you then pass trade bike up to 250cc or restricted 500cc for 2 years I was in similar situation to you.... and went the more expensive DAS route (which is more costly but good if you pass everything first time) if not you are committed to paying for more lessons to try to pass as you can;t practice on 500cc without being accompanied. What I've spent on lessons I could have bought a nearly new bike. (If you do decide to take a DAS course ask what they charge for extra time if you happen to fail-it a good indicator of the company you are dealing with) I may be old and cynical but bike trainers can spot middle aged men with money a mile away....why shouldnt they...they are a business after all Given my choice again i would have done my cbt and spent the money I have spent on a I25cc Varedero and rode that for a year. Then took a couple of lessons and put in for my test independently if passed continue with the varaedero and trade up to 500cc after 2 years it does depend on how much money you have and how urgent you are to get on a 500cc and yes how 'fat and lazy you are' Good luck! -
