  1. Nice pictures @oldgrump Definitely Oakerside Tea Room - the sign is an A frame chalkboard with half the name rubbed off.

  3. Hi, welcome
  4. I know people spend a lot on gloves, but me & Mrs. Fiddlesticks independently ended up with Oxford Hexham gloves for around £60 a pair. Lovely soft linings. Warm and pretty much dry. The worst you get is a bit damp in heavy downpours.
  5. How do
  6. We have Cool Covers - basically like the cheap Amazon ones, but fitted to the seat. They are good - you get the advantage of a bit of extra airflow in hot weather, a bit of extra drainage in wet weather and a bit of extra springyness in the seat.
  7. Agree with the above. Have the IXS Navigator suit from J&S - works OK, nothing special. The main thing for a helmet is how it fits. I certainly wouldn't be concerned about safety.
  8. I tend to find that if you leave it for six months it magically fixes itself

    Hello

Hi, good to have you along.
  11. Looks great. We should be down that way later in the year visiting family who live in Tours.
  12. My Bull-It jeans are a bit frustrating. One leg is fine. The other seems to always twist around so the knee pad is off-centre.

  16. Slow speed off on snow. The hip and elbow padding did its job.
  17. Hi
  18. Not sure about white helmets, but I've taken to wearing hi-viz on my commute after seeing a biker a few cars ahead of me get taken out by an emerging car. Seems to help, but you never know. Also, spotlights low down create a triangle effect with the headlight, which helps drivers gauge distance better. A little weave to make yourself more visible might help (if they happen to be looking your way). If nothing else, it's an extra point in your favour on the insurance claim.
  19. Hi, I'm reliably informed that we're on the cusp of summer.
  20. On my Tiger Explorer I have the same problem the opposite way around (main beam works, dipped headlight doesn't). Current theory is a bad connector, but I've got to take the tank off to find out.

    Hello

    Hi, welcome.
  22. It's well known that Bishops can only move diagonally. Maybe that's why they were stopped.
  23. We still have the led spots and centre small bulb, at least. Reading the Triumph forum it's likely to be a bad connector under the tank. If not possible to fix on the road, I'm wondering about the feasibility of blocking out the top half of the headlight grille with black tape - so as not to blind oncoming traffic - and using the main beam.
  24. We have just developed exactly the same fault . Of course, it's while we're on a bit of a tour. Have bought WD40, will check fuses etc. tomorrow.
  25. Hi, good to have you along
