It's an ambition of mine to do a tour like this.......my dad did a trip around Europe with a few mates before he got married....back in the 1950's.......I think they were on BSA's.......he said that there's some pics around, but I don't know where.....and sadly, he passed away recently.....

So long as the disks are not warped or excessively worn and the rear shock is not leaking and the linkages are not sloppy they should be ok.......but the right indicator could cause you some probs as the flashing should not be too fast, and should be the same both sides. I assume that all the bulbs are ok.....or are they LED?

Does the fuel tap have a vacuum hose going to it......and is it ok? Some bikes have a Prime position on the fuel tap.....does it have one? Does sound like fuel starvation.....

Welcome to TMBF mate.....pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you get chance..... The US use MPH too.....so it's not likely to be an American import.....more likely European or Japanese..... Sounds like it could do with a good service and then see where ya go. I assume it's got an air filter fitted and standard exhaust.....

Welcome to TMBF mate.......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can..... I'd say that you shouldn't have to remove the little caps when charging......you wouldn't if you hooked it up to a charger when it's.on the bike......

Starter relays are not normally that expensive...... have a look on eBay.......but my money is on the battery......

Sounds like the starter relay buzzing.......could be loose terminals on battery.......try tightening the battery terminals.......other than that I think you'll need a.multimeter to check the battery voltage..... You could try jumping it from a car battery.......just don't do it with the car engine running......
