  1. Iron Butterfly theme - Iron Butterfly
  2. Mountain Time - Joe Bonamassa
  3. Hopefully we wont need to shoot off so early next week as well.
  4. Yep.....sounds like you've got a leak somewhere. I'd be suprised if you could get it down to 20mpg....no matter how hard you ragged it.....
  5. Yeah....got kinda busy just before we left......and a good blast back too. Hopefully see you there again next week Ollie....
  6. Gonna head down in a bit.....too nice evening not to really.....
  7. Yeah.....deffo look for some kind of springing for the seat....
  8. Good luck with the Theory test and the CBT.... Don't forget to let us know how you get on.....
  9. I wear Hood jeans.....love 'em.....so I'd suggest checking them out. Not cheap.....but, then again, neither is your skin....
  10. Have you looked through Back Street Heros or 100% Biker? .....loadsa shiny bike accessory ads in them....may turn something up....
  11. I'd say it was some water in the electrics/plug.....and it's now dried out....

  13. The best waterproofs I have ever had were my Belstaff waxed cotton jacket and trousers that I had years ago......and my current Rukka jacket is pretty good.....although I do avoid going out in the rain now if I possibly can.... But....to answer your question.....good waterproofs are the Holy Grail.....but what I would try if I were you is one of those lightweight Regatta packaway jackets and trousers and wear them under your current gear when it's really hosing it down.....they're not too bulky and are reasonably waterproof......worth a try....
  14. Congrats mate...... Yep....there's no other feeling like it.....
  15. I was going to ask if your battery is ok? If the problem started after washing the bike could it just be water on the plug cap....

Be careful with some of the double bubble screens.....instead of deflecting the wind over your head they can deflect it straight into your lid......so, unless you're laying on the tank, they can actually make things worse than the standard screen....
  17. Looking good so far Adam..... I don't think there is anything in the MOT about seat height and mudguard clearance....the rear hugger on my Speedie almost touches the rear tyre. The only thing an MOT tester would look at is to make sure the mudguard is secure. You may want to look at some kind of spring mounting for the seat as it's gonna jar your back as it is. I've seen guys use mountain bike rear suspension units for springing the seat. I got a 6Sigma kit for my cb750 cafe racer project.....but not got round to fitting it yet.... Looking forward to seeing this progress mate....keep the pics and the write ups coming.....
  18. No....it wouldn't be possible to do all 3 elements in one day I don't think. You can't apply to do your DAS until you have done the Theory test. And I don't think it would be possible to do Mod1 and Mod2 in one day. You'd have to ask CDG about how he feels about Luton...

Me? I'm just a lawnmower and I lie on the bench....and I can always hear them talk.....
  20. CBT is indeed for 125....but is also a rquirement for the other tests if you don't already have it. The current UK bike test comprises of 3 elements (additional to the CBT)....theory test, Module 1 test and Module 2 test. Module 1 (Mod1) is an off road manouverability test which has exercises like: swerve test, u-turn test and a figure 8 test. Once this has been completed successfully you then do the Module 2 test (Mod2), which is an on-road riding test which is monitored by an examiner either on another bike or occassionally in a car. Hope this answers your question. Unfortunately = British humour....
  21. I had to drain and wash the tank of my old Speed 4 when it needed a new pump plate stud welded on. Washed the tank with water over several days......welder wouldn't touch it if it had even the slightest smell of petrol....
  22. I agree with EAB.....your location may turn up guys local that wouldn't mind taking a look at the bike and offering advice. Anyway.....sounds like the calipers are stuck or seized....so they will probably need stripping and cleaning and possibly having new seals fitted.....just for starters....
  23. I use one of those hot air paint strippers..... bit like a superheated hair dryer.....

I'm with acting_strange here.....does sound like compression. Check valve clearances?
  25. Heat the hub first as well....so that it expands slightly, which should help with getting the bearings out....
