  1. Can you bump start it? I'm assuming that the engine will actually turn over? If that is OK.....try the things Stu suggested....plus make sure the kill switch isn't off/broken.....I take it that the battery fluid didn't leak out? Check battery, battery connections, starter relay and connections, starter motor connections and starter motor brushes not stuck.....
  2. Love to Love - UFO
  3. Chances are that the fuse saved you from doing any real damage......but you won't know until tomorrow.
  4. Done for ya kitty....
  5. We got a pair of Ortlieb dry bags from an overland adventure stand at the NEC bike show a few years back now.....they had a special show price on them, but I can't remember what we paid for them....but it wasn't much.....
  6. Glad you got back eventually Throttled.....that's a fair old journey you made there....
  7. Hopefully getting there tonight Rich.....work permitting. Normally get there between 6:30 - 7:00....
  8. I bought a secondhand Rukka jacket......Goretex, with zip-out winter liner.....£120.....so, have a look at secondhand stuff if you're on a tight budget.....there's some decent kit out there for peanuts if you're prepared to trawl for it.....
  9. Check how tight your battery terminals are before spending any money......
  10. Do your A2 and ride the A2 bike until you can afford or feel the need to do the A test.....you don't have to do it when you're 24.....
  11. Awww....that's bad luck Jill......hope it's easy to sort out.....just glad you didn't get hurt this time.....
  12. Another top weekend at the TMBF Rally.....brilliant. And HUGE thanks to Stu for organising it.....and Sue and Rennie for providing top entertainment on Saturday night.....and all those who attended.....what a great bunch of people.....
  13. Well....Chris & EAB can't make it......and I'm sure there will be others.
  14. That's a shame Fro.....would've been good to see you over there.....attendees are dropping like flies now.....
  15. WTF, Cat.....how long are you going for??
  16. I'm always very sceptical about anything "universal".....normally means it universally doesn't fit anything.... Hope you get it sorted Ollie.....
  17. A lot of bikes get written off due to fairing damage and the cost of replacing the fairings.....so, you could get one of those and street fighter it.....
  18. Welcome to TMBF mate..... I think that some or most DAS courses do the CBT on the first day....and then go onto the Mod1 & 2. I assume that you are looking at the A2 test because of your age? All bikes that comply with the A2 license have a maximum power of 47.7 bhp.....so it doesn't matter if it's a 250, 400, 600 or 1000cc bike the limit is the same....with a limit on the power/weight ratio.....and the unrestricted bike cannot make more than double the max restricted bhp...ie, no more than 95bhp.... Good luck....
  19. Shame you can't make it to the rally Steve.....but hope to see you at the local meets again in the not-too-distant-future.... Yeah...it'll be great to finally meet up with you Throttled.....safe journey down mate.....
  20. We were there....along with Rant Machine......a reasonable number of bikes there too. Got chatting with a guy who had a 1973 Triumph T150 Trident.....says he's had it since it was 18 months old....lovely bike....nice bloke too....even though he was a Yorkshireman.....
  21. Cat C or Cat D only mate.....try to get something fairly mainstream.....getting parts and info on some of the rarer bikes will be a pain.... I'd avoid anything thats got cracked or broken engine casings....never know how long the motor ran with no oil in it.....
  22. Hey! I am on 12 hour notice and nights at the moment! Which means I can still come and should get Friday off! I'll ride with you guys if that's cool. Looks like I might have to leave Saturday to work but will see how it goes! Hey Gareth....no probs mate....we'll arrange a rendezvous place and time.....
  23. I would guess that the 2 pipes go onto that T-piece.....assuming that the pipes come from the fuel tap....one for main tank and the other for reserve....and the other pipe on the T-piece I assume is going to the carbs?.....
  24. Use bits of masking tape to put the marks where you are going to drill.....measure, measure and measure again before drilling..... I'd put a block of wood behind where you are going to drill.....stops the ally distorting when you're putting pressure on it....and should stop the drill snatching as it goes through the ally.....
  25. No probs Guillaume.....your English is a darn site better than my French..... Given that the front sprocket is broken, I think I would replace both sprockets and the chain if that were me....
