    Blowing globes

Probably vibration.....has the headlamp and tail light units got the rubber anti-vibration mounts? Putting 12v bulbs in will severely reduce the light output. Have you tried a different brand of bulbs?.....maybe the ones you're using are a bit fragile? Also, is there any kind of voltage limiter on the lighting circuit?.....something like a zener diode to limit the voltage?

    agressive pads

Depends what pads you've got at the moment.....they may just be sh*t pads. I use Carbone Lorraine pads in my bike.....which seem to work ok. Trouble is if you go for race pads they take a while to get to temperature.....so the first few miles of riding could be interesting.... Sintered pads are better than organic pads, but the trade-off is that they wear the disk rotors quicker. It may be a case of experimenting with different pads to find the ones you like best.....
  6. It's looking good Joeman........just needs lots more carbon......

    honda cbf600sa speedo

How's your battery voltage?......heard of speedo problems caused by low battery voltage before. Take a look on eBay to see if there's any used sensors available....

  9. Thanks guys.....really appreciate it....
  10. During the first week of our holiday I got a message to say that my eldest son had been admitted to hospital. His Crohn's had flared up badly and he was unable to eat for a few days, so he was admitted and put on a drip. He's been put back on steroids again and had his infusion, which seems to be sorting him out now. So the first week of our hols was spent sending messages back and forth, keeping tabs on his progress. There was little point in coming back early as there was nothing we could do......and he is 23....so, not a child anymore. Got back off hols on Saturday afternoon and got a phone call from one of my brother-in-laws to let me know that my father had just passed away suddenly. I can't wait for the 3rd thing!!....
  11. Welcome to TMBF Mate....... Yeah.....could be interesting trying to get it all back together..... As Joeman says, probably best to do some checks first to make sure none of it is stolen.....

    zx9r b1 carb question

I think you need to run the bike and then check the plug colour to see if the mixture is correct.....then go from there....
  14. Welcome to TMBF mate.....pop over to the newbies section and introduce yourself to the folks on here when you get a chance.... Not sure mate, but I suspect it may be exhaust air admittance....which is part of the emissions control. If this is the case, then any holes in this pipe could cause rough running.....

    Sprockets!

Although it's hard to see from the pics, I agree with EAB.....rear sprocket teeth look far too pointy....
  16. All the best for tomorrow Stu. Hope you and Tracey have a fantastic day.
  17. Off on hols tomorrow morning I'm affraid Gareth.....not having much luck hooking up with you for rideouts mate.....maybe once we get back things will quiten down a bit....
  18. Double whammy......spot on mate.....
  19. I think you're gonna have to measure the voltage at the bulbs and work back from there..... Check the lighting relay too.....just in case that's shot.....
  20. Well done Derek.....great job mate..... Mandy and I spoke with the IAM guys at the recent bike show at Meldreth.....they have an informal rideout every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, so we may head down there when we get back from our hols....
  21. Congrats on the pass mate.....and good luck to the missus for tomorrow too.....

    clutch advice

Clunk when going into 1st?.....don't all bikes do that?... If the bike isn't trying to move when you've got the clutch in......and it doesn't slip in the higher gear when you give it a handfull, then I don't think you really have a problem.... But....if you're still worried....what about the engine oil.....is it fairly new or has it been in there a while? On the Triumph RAT forum I've heard guys praising Motul 5100 engine oil for quietening their gear changes.....it's expensive, but may be worth a shot.....
  24. I'm not sure that the indicators on your bike are the originals.....looks like it's had LED ones fitted at some point. The trouble with the cheap LED indicators like the ones you are looking at is that they are often not very bright....and are notoriously fragile.....and you'd need either an LED compatible flasher relay or load resistors.
