1. Welcome to TMBF mate. ...... Yeah....sounds like the speedo drive cable has given up.....or possibly the speedo drive gear on the front wheel......disconnect both ends of the cable and rotate the inner cable...The other end should turn too......If it does, then check the speedo drive gear on the front wheel......attach the lower end of the cable to the drive, raise the front wheel off the ground and spin the wheel.....you should be able to see the inner cable at the clock end rotating.....
2. Did you have a heart attack griptwister ?.........If you didn't, I guess their diagnosis was correct. I've got to say that the treatment that I've had from the NHS over the years has been exemplary. I had chest pains a few years back and phoned 101.....They took my details and told me to get to the A&E as quickly as possible ( I insisted that I didn't need an ambulance, and against their instruction, I drove there)....I was seen very quickly as they were expecting me.....bloods were taken and I was hooked up to an ECG......An hour or so later, they got my blood test results back from the lab and checked the ECG and said that it wasn't a heart attack and I was clear to go. Thing is with private hospitals, I've not seen an A&E or Trauma unit at any Bupa or Nuffield hospital....never seen an air ambulance landing point at any of them either. People that think the American medical system is so wonderful need to look at the number of American citizens who declare bankruptcy due to medical care costs every year.
3. Make a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day......set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. In ancient times, cats were worshipped as gods.........and they haven't forgotten this.
4. Even though you may have a fair bit of tread left on the tyre, it may have squared off........and are you absolutely sure that the pressure is ok? The roads are starting to cool down a bit, and overnight temperatures are dropping, which can affect the amount of grip.......have the slips happened close to home or work?......If so, the tyres may not have got up to temperature by then.....
5. Another guy posted up a video on youtube changing his plugs on his GSX650........He gave up.....

7. That's pretty respectable bhp and torque, Alan.......how much more do you reckon you'll get out of it?
8. Found this......may help slightly........ https://youtu.be/O1pfUKJ03-8
9. Anything on YouTube? ......Other than that I can't help I'm afraid.......
10. I had mine dyno'd after replacing the air filter for a higher flow one.....The bike already had Triumph TOR's on it and the change of air filter didn't help the running.......although I wasn't looking for any performance gains from the remap, I did get around 10% gain in BHP and Torque......and a smoother running bike..... I kept the standard sprocket ratios as the bike can easily lift the front wheel in the first couple of gears just on the throttle......changing the gearing by altering the sprocket ratios would make the bike unwieldy I think...... So, it really depends on what you're looking for, mate......and if you've made changes to the intake and exhaust that could affect the running with the standard map.....or if you think that the acceleration is a bit lacking....... For me the dyno setup was well worth the money......

12. Do you actually need to lubricate O-ring and X-ring chains? Do you just need to keep it clean and let the grease held between the O-rings/X-rings do its job? Just wiping a bit of oil or something like ACF50 over the outside of the chain to prevent corrosion? Discuss.......
13. Trabant .. I don't want cookies want milk chocolate buttons . Step away from the chocolate buttons sir......and keep your hands where we can see them!

16. I tuck mine away under the seat when I'm riding......then just pop the seat and connect it to the optimate when I get home......easy peasy......
17. Blimey Steve....you're getting in early!.......not even thought about Christmas yet......
18. Rockin' in the Free World - Neil Young
19. What did the connectors to the Reg/Rec look like?......They can get cooked and go high resistance, so you don't get the full charge going to the battery...... Failing that, it sounds like your stator may be toast.......remove it and have a look at the windings.....any dark or discoloured sections would suggest that it's been cooked......replacement or rewind are your only options if that's the case....
20. I'm not sure if a well charged battery puts less load on the Stator and Reg/Rec as well.....they're not having to work as hard as when they are trying to charge a heavily discharged battery..... Anyway......back on topic......I'd not be without my optimate......The bike gets hooked up to it when I put it back into the garage.....even after a good run..... so that it's ready for the next outing......
21. 15bhp is the limit as stated......but there's also a limit on bhp/kg.......I think that all new 125's being offered by manufacturers meet the criteria for L-plate riders on the CBT. ......
22. Yeah.....as the guys have said.....it's on the starter.....It engages when the starter motor spins to turn the engine over, and disengages when the engine starts........The problems start when the starter is turning too slowly, the engine can kick back with a lot of force which forces the sprag the wrong direction and breaks it......as onesea says, some of the older triumph triples need the crankcase split to get to it.....which is an engine out and strip job.....
23. That's if you believe they extent the life of the battery or just keep it charged and make the battery lazy. Optimates are a battery conditioner......so they run regular discharge cycles to prevent the battery from developing a memory, which AGM or Lead/Acid batteries tend not to do anyway......
24. Have a run over to J&S in Finedon, near Wellingborough. .....they've got a pretty extensive stock of helmets you could try......
25. I use an optimate which keeps the battery in top condition......it's especially important for Triumph Triples as you can mess up the sprag clutch if you try to start the bike with a low battery.........£800-900 repair bill!......
