1. Yep.....Once you've been bitten by the bug!......
2. Just make sure that it holds it securely......They started fitting engine cutout switches to sidestands a good few years back because of the number of accidents caused by riding with the sidestand down.....
3. Congrats mate........good luck with the MOD2. ......
4. For tools, look at the Halfords Professional range.......lifetime guarantee......and they're pretty good tools too......
5. As they're LED the current draw shouldn't be too high......
6. Some bikes (mine included) you can remove the clutch cover without draining the oil if the bike is on the sidestand. .....
7. Maybe the basket is notched, so the plates aren't moving smoothly....especially when it's cold?
8. Thought it was your bike Fred .....but didn't see you. Unfortunately it was too cold to sit outside, so we stayed inside with our coffee's..... Nice cool, damp ride back.....but it was good to meet and have a chat Stu . Sorry we missed you, Fred.
9. I've been riding bikes longer than I care to remember......And still have days when you'd think it was my first time on a bike.....it just happens. So, don't beat yourself up over it.....keep your head up and look where you want to go (full bike licence)....
10. Is it tomorrow then?
11. I'm in Switzerland from 1st to 12th October. .......so that rules out that weekend (6th and 7th) for me.....
12. This Saturday is a possibility...... When are you next off Stu ?
13. The following Sunday?......
14. Bloody teachers......no sense of humour.....
15. .....I'd like to see someone try.......evidence suggests that there's a floor in our garage, but it's been so long since I've seen it I'm just trusting that it's still there!....
16. It may be the forward pegs on the VN that are the problem. ....... Anyway.....it's not for us to tell you what to do.....you've got to do what you think is right. ......and, if you do decide to change, buy the bike that you're most comfortable with......
17. Our neighbour on one side is a mad, needy, stirring alcoholic.......but she keeps her distance from me as she knows I don't play her games..... Our last conversation a couple of months ago went like: Neighbour: Do you have someone living in your garage? (Our garage adjoins her house) Me: Why do you ask? Neighbour : I can hear voices coming from there Me: Why the f*ck would I have anyone living in my garage? Neighbour : Dunno. But I can hear voices coming from there. Me (opening the doors to a garage full of motorbikes, bits of motorbikes, and a host of other stuff): And just where do you think they would sleep? Neighbour : (shrugs): But I hear voices I lock the garage and walk away! So I feel your pain regarding neighbours, mate. Hope you get the fence sorted as promised.
18. Welcome to TMBF mate. ........ Given your age you can forget about restrictors. ........ Do the DAS and you can then ride any bike you want, 50cc-2300cc....... Good luck.....
19. Welcome to TMBF mate. .......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can. ...... Try and catch the noise on video and post it up to see if anyone can come up with any explanation. ......
20. Welcome to TMBF mate. ......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can. .... As to your problem. .......If the chain was really knackered (and likely the sprockets too), then the distance you've moved the rear wheel back may be further than the brake rod and torsion bar can cope with......New chain (and sprockets) may sort your problem. .....
21. I don't think that you're giving the current test sufficient credit......I don't think you can just fluke the 2-part test....... In some ways your comment is contradictory. ....to gain a CBT you just need to rock up at a training centre have a couple of hours tuition and then sent on your merry way.......and plenty of the modern 125's can hit 60-70mph..... The DAS is a more intensive training with a 2-part test coupled with a CBT and the Theory test......so, all-in-all significantly more training and preparation for sending a new rider out onto the road on their own. Another advantage of doing the DAS and getting a bigger bike is the availability of further training (Bikesafe, IAM, RoSPA, etc). Anyway....that's just my 2p's worth.....
22. I stick with the older style Bell lids, as they seem to fit my noggin just right......I can comfortably wear both my M5X for hours with no problems. ....... Getting the right lid is another of those costly journeys in finding the right gear......good luck with your search.....
23. Don't see any reason why they wouldn't fit your bike......as Megawatt says, they normally bolt to the engine mounts, which will be the same for your bike and the faired version......
24. I like Held gloves......The most comfortable gloves I've worn....... I've not got these, but one day........https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/99470
