  1. As EAB says....if your running too rich it'll foul the plug in no time...... If you pull the plug out and it's wet you're getting something into the combustion chamber.....now if it's the right stuff is another matter. Are you sure that the bottom end of the motor was alright after the devastation in the top end? Haven't knackered the main bearings?
  2. Have you still got compression.........without that it won't fire......
  3. In any case I'm not sure about welding bike frames....but then again many do without any problems.....Head chops etc.......so, I guess on a steel frame welding an engine mount back on shouldn't cause too many probs......
  4. Yep....they look more like it for road use....hopefully you should see a big difference with these....
  5. Hmmmmm....maybe start looking for a suitable frame as a replacement...... Unfortunately you're stuffed with the Cat B.....so it'll have to be a transplant job.....
  6. If the airbox is cracked can't you just glue it?........just a thought......
  7. Sorry Bob, can't help with the error code.......but maybe check that the fuel tank breather isn't blocked......sounds a bit like fuel starvation.... When it stops try opening the filler cap quickly and see if there some suction there.....which could indicate a vacuum forming in the tank due to insufficient air getting in via the breather...... Or buy a Triumph.....you can then hook a laptop up to it via a £10 cable off eBay and a free program called TuneECU and look at the error codes.....

    brake pads

    Goldfren or Carbone Lorraine Matty?.......different makes.......Goldfren = Rubbish.....Carbone Lorraine = Great......

    brake pads

Yep....Carbone Lorraine pads seem to do the job nicely..... Gonna be putting some on the S3 in the near future I hope......
  10. I think I can see why your bike wouldn't start properly....... I think Flymo do a replacement engine for it....
  11. Would it be doing what it's doing though? I'll go to partsco soon and get a replacement, thanks =) Well....if you have a decent spark and fuel is getting into the combustion chamber the most likely thing to stop it running correctly is lack of compression..... I had a loose cylinder head bolt on one cylinder on an RD350 years back....it ran like sh*t......and leaked fuel/oil from the head gasket area.....so, a missing bolt could cause your problems.....
  12. Yeah....a missing bolt on the cylinder head wont be helping things.....
  13. Welcome to the Forum mate........introduce yourself in the Newbies section when you get a mo....... When you say a bolt is missing.....where exactly?.......if it's on the cylinder head you could have problems..... If it will only run with the choke on I'd be looking towards low compression as the problem. You replaced the piston and rings....but was the barrel scored?
  14. Weak spark could be the plug.....but could also be the coil or HT lead/plug cap......Are you sure the plug isn't whiskered?......ie, doesn't have a piece of carbon bridging the spark gap? If you have compression and fuel getting into the combustion chamber then it must be the spark that's not strong enough......so maybe check the coil out....... I posted this for someone having trouble with a Fazer 600.....but I think the reading on most bikes would be very similar.....
  15. Nice one mate....glad it went well for you........nothing better than a good run out on a bike....... This is why it's so difficult to answer guys when they ask "which bike".....because it really boils down to what bikes do you like....and what are they like to ride.....only you can answer those questions......

    misfire

This may be the correct type plug cap....but just double check your plug type prefix as this is for 12mm plugs.....but they also do them for 14mm plugs: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SD05F-NGK-Plu ... vi-content I copied this off another site....which may help with troubleshooting.......

    Drum brakes

I persuaded it off this afternoon........
  19. Welcome to the Forum mate........ I'm not sure what you mean....so maybe a few piccys would help identify where your problem is......
  20. Hey Neil......sorry to hear that news mate...... Lost my best mate 5 year ago this year to Cancer.....he was 50....... Still miss him..... I was away when he passed away....but his wife told me that one of the last things he said was "tell Bob I love him.....but not in THAT way....".......kept his sense of humour right to the last...... Hope your mate don't suffer........
  21. Unfortunately all our cash is tied up Alan.......but let us know when you are planning to go to the Pod and we'll get across to see you.....
  22. Cheers bud. The calipers ok it just needs a new disc. I did think about getting one when i put new pads in but just never did, bit silly of me really. Not the end of the world then mate.....easy fixed......
  23. Nice work there Fozzie......I'm sure that those who are taking the new test and then deciding which bike will suit best after will get a lot of useful information from this......
  24. Bl**dy hell mate....I can't believe that amount of stuff you've blagged for this bike.....
  25. Nice one Mintex....glad it passed OK. Can't the rear brake be rebuilt?.....or is it the Disk that's going?
