    'Ave it!

Think I'll get the bike out and go for a ride to celebrate.....
  2. Hoggs had a similar problem a while ago......can't remember now what sorted it.......maybe Hoggs will see this and let you know what she did.....

    Holding back

Check the tank breather. ......and also the petcock.....just in case......
  4. A fool and his money are soon parted!.......
  5. Nice job mate........ Yeah, this section isn't just about ground up rebuilds, but any interesting mods ........nice to see her returned to her former glory (plus a bit extra)......
  6. That's a mixer tap type one, mate.....OP says she has separate hot and cold taps......
  7. OK folks.....let's keep this civil please.
  8. Welcome to TMBF mate. ........... Personally I'd go straight for the DAS......but that's just my opinion......
  9. Yeah, can't see anything specific for what you want.......you may have to lash something up with universal tap connectors feeding into a Y-piece and then to your hosepipe......can't really see any other alternative.....

    kmx125

Check that you've got compression.......pull the spark plug out and but your thumb over the hole and turn the engine over.....you should feel a decent amount of pressure there that will lift your thumb off the hole.....
  11. For waterproofness and windproof you'll probably need to look at Goretex gloves......so they're gonna cost you...... What you can do as well is wear silk inner gloves inside whatever gloves you buy, as this helps with insulation. .......I think Mountain Warehouse have them in their sale at the moment.....so may be worth a look as well......
  12. Congrats on completing your CBT again......and with the new bike...... 30mph does feel slow, but it's amazing how quickly a dangerous situation can occur....and suddenly 30mph feels too fast.... I was young once, so I'll not preach.....but over time you start to appreciate that the limits are there for a reason. I stick to the lower limits religiously now.....but, the national speed limit?.......
  13. I think my chain lube is PTFE, which works ok.....
  14. Yeah, I'd run it back to the dealer and get them to sort it out.......don't touch it yourself as it may cause problems with the warranty. ....
  15. Yes, it's nice to hear of someone decent on eBay........but, TBF I've had very few problems with those I've dealt with on there.....
  16. Yep......I'd be putting something a bit less sticky on the chain......
  17. Yeah, 800-900 rpm is a bit on the low side......
  18. I was sensible......I stuck to a honda CD175. .......passed my test in March 1975......
  19. Congrats mate......happy days.......enjoy the bike shopping......
  20. The first question sounds like maybe the oil quality......maybe do an oil change and see if that helps. The second question - again, this could be related to the oil quality. Also, are you sure that the clutch cable free play is set correctly. Or it could be down to slightly warped clutch plates, so they are not disengaging completely.
  21. You can add them to your profile.....
  22. Yeah, a Scottoiler would definitely benefit you I think...... As Stu says, a DID X-ring chain and sprocket set would probably be your best bet. ......
  23. I'd go with a slight leak somewhere on the headers too....... It may need the fuelling checked too, as any difference in the back pressure in the exhaust could cause the bike to start running a bit lean.....

    Yamaha XSR900

Nice review mate......I think most new bikes are fitted with slippery planks as seats these days. I sat on the XSR at the bike show and wasn't too impressed. ....It felt cheap.....but I'm sure it will sell......
  25. Yeah....ok, I've caught up now......errr yeah....congrats on the new bike mate...... You could take a wire brush to the rear sprocket if you want......I think I'd be checking the condition of the chain and sprockets anyway mate, as you don't really know the history of the bike..... And here starts your first lesson in motorbike ownership.....you're hand will be permanently in your pocket from now on, because there's always something that needs replacing or servicing.....or a nice new shiny thing that needs adding (BTW....These are called Farkles ), because bikers are really just magpies in disguise!.....
