  1. Are you going to the bike show in Docklands this weekend then? Should be a decent amount of gear for sale there.....
  2. This is interesting Tony, as I've got a pair of Hood jeans that have full pararamid lining as well as knee and hip armour.......so you're saying that they're as good as useless? Mind you, when I started biking there was no such thing as armour or cordura......so ordinary jeans were pretty standard clothing for biking then......
  3. Welcome to TMBF mate. ......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can. ... Some leathers have waterproof liners built in......otherwise you'll never make them waterproof. ......best bet is a waterproof over suit to go over them.......
  4. Depending on how short of breath you are I'd be inclined to rock up at A&E......

    YBR Won't Start

Switch cleaner up the ignition barrel should sort it out ok........otherwise it may need a new ignition switch.....
  6. Glad you're OK Mr B........ I remember many years back one of the local police drivers used to pop into my dad's shop for a cuppa regularly......I was in there one Saturday helping my dad out and the car went past the shop with lights and 2-tone going.....then there was a huge screech and loud bang, so we went out to see what had happened......Some old dear had pulled out of a side turning right in front of him.......Both cars were a mess but thankfully no one was hurt......but the cop that we knew was really p*ss ed off because back then the "punishment" for bending one of their cars was a month or 2 pounding the beat.......so we saw him a bit more regularly for his cuppa for a while!!!.......
  7. Sorry Fozzie.....I'm still fettling the moulds, but hopefully get to lay up some carbon at the weekend.....
  8. I somehow doubt that this will see me to early retirement, mate.....
  9. Maybe we'll just see how they turn out first before getting too excited, Stu....
  10. I tell you what, Stu.....they're as rare as rocking horse sh*t for these older bikes.....and when they do come up they sell for crazy money.......so, you could be onto something there.....
  11. Cheers Joe.......no, I'm just gonna wet lay ( oooh errrrr missus) the carbon and see how that goes......
  12. I've been threatening to do this for some time.......but Mandy got me a couple of kits for Christmas , so I've no excuse now..... Stage one is making the moulds.......which I think have come out ok........just need a bit of trimming and polishing ready for laying the carbon in...... More pics to come, once I get the moulds how I want them.....and then have a bash at the carbon fibre laminating......

  15. If it's not bent too badly mate you can probably straighten it out by hand.......it's only if something has broken that you may need to replace it......
  16. Bad luck mate........chances are that the shifter linkage has got bent slightly and is catching on something.......just look at the linkage mechanism and try shifting it by hand (without the engine running) and see where it's binding......

  18. Yep......you've got 12 point limit then.
  19. Is the gear lever or linkage damaged or bent? With other one, try giving it a run without the filler cap on......just to see if the tank breather is blocked.
  20. Try putting a syringe onto the vacuum line and pull a vacuum to open the fuel flow and then try starting the bike......just to see if the problem is something to do with the vacuum feed for the fuel tap.......
  21. I don't know either bike.......but the first one, you need to have a look around and make sure nothing got bent during the drop. Second one sounds like fuel starvation.......could be a blocked fuel tank breather.......

    Optimate 3

Are you sure that it's been flashing constantly? Mine has the amber led on when charging......then goes solid green.....and then periodically goes to flashing green for test mode for a bit......and then goes back to solid green for a bit and cycles solid green and flashing green......
  23. Using the feed to one of the lights as the control for a relay wouldn't load that circuit up significantly.......I think that this would be my preferred option...... Then maybe power the extra lights and USB socket from the relay.....
