  1. I agree with EAB......I think it'll be more hassle than it's worth TBH.....
  2. And Phil (Philthy animal) Taylor passed away not long ago too.....
  3. Yep.....I first became aware of Lemmy when I heard Orgone Accumulator off Hawkwind's Space Ritual album 40 years ago......and I still enjoy listening to it now! Anyway.....I feel that music has just lost one of the greats.....A great bassist, a great songwriter and lyricist, a larger than life character and a thinker....I would say RIP, but I can't see him doing that....
  4. I get pains in my clutch hand wrist on my first few rides if I've not ridden for a while......but it soon disappears after a few more runs. But Paul Kent's post could have the answer......basically you want the levers angled such that they follow a straight line from your forearms when you're sat on the bike......if they're angled upwards like in the picture it puts a strain on your wrist when pulling the lever in repeatedly......
  5. Can't help with the photo restoration question......but it must be that time of year.....was going through some old photos with my mum yesterday.......she's got some that date back to the turn of the last century......and they're in not bad condition either...... My Grandad ( on the left) born in 1901
  6. Spark plugs - when fitting the new ones you should be able to wind them all the way in by hand and then nip them up 1/8 to 1/4 turn with the plug socket......If you can't wind them in by hand do not be tempted to crank them in with the socket set, as there's a good chance you'll cross thread them and then you'll be in trouble.... When removing bits for the first time, take lots of photos as you go along......helps with reassembly....... As others have said....decent tools will make most jobs on the bike easier.....initial investment may be high, but if they are looked after they should last a lifetime......
  7. Details here, Ricky...... viewtopic.php?f=11&t=59050 ......
  8. Hope that everyone has had a great day........only 365 days to the next one......
  9. Congrats mate.......happy days......
  10. Lol......that's a bit off the wall!.....
  11. Nice one, mate.......hope you have a great time.......
  12. Ahhh yessss......Blade Runner........good call.....
  13. Dunno Deso........it's got a removable quilted liner........and it keeps me fairly warm in the winter......
  14. My secondhand Rukka air jacket has had some severe drenching and remained waterproof .......I've been dead pleased with it so far......
  15. Page 2 of a "Top 10 Films" on a motorbike forum and I've not seen The World's Fastest Indian yet!! C'mon people, get with the plan! Others, in no particular order : Saving Private Ryan Shawshank Redemption Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy 12 Monkeys Road to Perdition I, Robot Month Python & the Holy Grail Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained The Matrix Cloud Atlas Ex_Machina.........only watched it once so far, but I think it'll bear a few more goes. Despicable Me, & 2......appeal to my childish sense of humour. Big Fish Pirates of the Caribbean (all of them) The list could go on forever.......
  16. It depends on whether the noise is travelling through the mains or is being radiated from the heater control.......If it's coming through the mains you'll probably need some kind of filter on the supply lead to the amp........If it's being radiated, then you'd need some kind of screening to the cabling and amp. Does the sound input lead to the amp run anywhere near the mains lead for the lamp aquarium thingy? Rerouting it may help.
  17. I assume the bike is all serviced?........has it got standard exhaust and air filter.......Some non - standard exhausts and air filters can create a mid range flat spot........
  18. Yep.....wear it around the house for a while.......
  19. Welcome to TMBF mate.....pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can....... As far as I know the crown wheel will have oil in it that needs to be replaced periodically.......as for the spot lamps, I don't think they're standard so it'll be hard to say what bulbs are in there until you get them apart........give the screws a good soak in some penetrating oil and then try them again.....
  20. The filaments in the 55W bulbs will be more fragile than those in the 35KW bulbs......and the current draw is more than 50% greater with the 55W bulbs.....so, firstly, with the vibration on the bike I'm not surprised that the 55W bulbs don't last as long.......Secondly, are you sure that there's not a fuse for the lights somewhere? The greater current draw of the 55W bulbs could have popped a fuse. With bulbs you're best off going for better quality manufacturers (Bosch, Osram, etc) as they tend to last longer than the cheapo brands in my experience.......
  21. Check the voltage at the bulb mate......at tickover.....and whilst revving the engine......
  22. I can't do WB 18 July.......got a meeting at work and all leave has been banned for that week......
  23. Congrats on the pass mate.......I hope you get a job and bike sorted soon......
  24. Glad you liked it Hoggs...... Do you reckon that's Gautrek on that outfit?.....
