1. Stu had to have the wheels on his FJR replaced when he got it, because the gloop had eaten into the inside of the rims.....
2. Been there more times than I care to remember, got a freezer alarm in the end which was helpful, it broke a few months ago (it was very old) and yep they did it again. There’s a mountain of ice inside the damn thing now and no room for food. He’s also 16.. years not months Yes.....we have a 21 year old that slams the freezer door, so it bounces back open slightly....
3. So, you can measure some resistance (armature windings) between the copper segments on the commutator? Can you measure the same resistance between the starter connection stud and the starter body when it's all assembled?
4. Looking forward to seeing this taking shape, Alan.......keep the pics coming......
5. Moved to Pitstop. Start with the basics, mate......change the spark plug, check oil level, check or replace the air filter, etc........
6. The armature should turn pretty freely, with a very slight resistance caused by the brushes rubbing on the commutator.........The sparking you mention means that current is flowing.......sounds like the bearings on the armature are too stiff.
7. So, with one side of the meter on the copper segments and the other side to the steel shaft running through the middle shows high resistance?......If that's what you're reading, then that's OK. You shouldn't get a low reading between the copper segments and the steel shaft, as that would indicate that the insulation had broken down......so, if I'm reading what you're saying right, it's measuring ok.
8. Starter brush plate......https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB750F2S-SEVEN-FIFTY-RETRO-1995/part_85428/ TBH the starter shouldn't be that hard to turn by hand.......could be that the oil has gummed the bearings up on the starter......try soaking the bearings with a thin oil and see how that goes......If you can't free them up you may need to replace them.....
9. Welcome to TMBF mate. ..........yeah, something like the Triumph Bonneville Scrambler......A bit more than 500cc.....but nice bikes...... https://www.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk/motorcycles/classic/bonneville-street-scrambler
10. Join 100% Biker on Facebook and ask on there......there's a good few on there that are into the custom bike scene......
11. Tango

Snapped key :(

Are these guys any good for your keys or lock set?......https://www.chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk/search?pagesize=15&category=31013&pageno=1
12. I'd take the time hit and get the dealer to look at it......otherwise you could risk invalidating the warranty. .....
13. Welcome to TMBF mate. ........ A specific motorcycle trailer would be best.......how about hiring one to test it out to see how you get on with it?
14. Or £40 for a headlamp unit.......https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-ER6-F-ER6-N-FRONT-HEADLIGHT-HEAD-LAMP-2007/173541093300?hash=item2867daefb4:g:2UcAAOSwxSZboBrD&redirect=mobile......
15. Link takes me to the member map, no locations showing Make sure that all instances of maps is closed on your device.....then click the link again....
16. What's your chain tension like?......If it's a bit loose you can get clunky gear changes.......I'm guessing that the clutch is adjusted ok too.....If it's dragging a bit you'll get clunky changes.....
17. They're your nearest pubs......but you could try to find some a bit further afield......We did that a few years ago, as we could have done them all in a couple of hours.....so we picked some farther away, but enroute or near some of the other tags......just to make it a bit more of a challenge. ....
18. Happy New Year to everyone on here, and all your nearest and dearest.....I hope that 2019 sees you all putting some miles on your bikes.....
19. Look again , its an optical illusion. You're absolutely right, Bob.....need to clean my glasses......but, as you say, it may be possible to find an o-ring that'll fit in that groove.....
20. Most of my jackets have a foam back protector fitted to them........and all have shoulder and elbow armour. Finding a truly waterproof set of textiles?...now, that's a challenge.....
21. Those coil sticks look like they have an o-ring on them.....but it's not listed as a separate part.....see if you can remove one and measure it and search for replacements of the same dimensions. I also thought that there were small drain holes at the bottom of the plug Wells, to let water drain out.....but they tend to block up? Or did I just dream that?....
22. Welcome to TMBF mate. ......... There's a bike night at the White Swan in Conington near St Ives on Tuesday evenings......but only the die hards go there during the winter months..... There's normally a good gathering on Hunstanton seafront on Sundays in the summer. Crazy Horse customs in Bury St Edmunds is another popular meeting place during the warmer months. Soggy Moggy rally at Wood Green animal shelter near Godmanchester in September is a good one. Carol Nash / MCN Festival of Motorcycling at Peterborough showground in May isn't too bad, but a bit pricey......although, they do have some reasonable entertainment on the Friday and Saturday evenings.
23. Guitars are like motorbikes......you can never have too many.....
24. Personally, mate, I'd wait until you pass your test.......The feet forward riding position on the cruisers could mess you up for riding the ER6, if you get too used to it. Then, once you pass your test, get the bike you really want......but maybe stick secondhand for a bit, until you get confident in handling bikes.....
25. Good luck with the retest......It is only a bike test, at the end of the day.....it's not like your life depends on it, so, play it down in your mind and it'll go a long way to settling your nerves.....
