  1. @S-Westerly my neighbour has had good results with nematodes, hope it works for you, slow worms are stars in the garden, take good care of it!!
  2. Yes slugs have reached epic proportions, not going for veggies but my dalhia's are all just short stumps!! They are like Ninja's, but have spotted a few leopard slugs, so happy eating for them, I hope.
  3. Welcome back husoi, you looked like you had a great trip, pity its still raining here, no sign of the hot summer we're supposed to have, at least my veggies in the garden love the weather!!
  4. My husband loves his TCX boots, cost a bit more, but he says they are the most comfortable pair of boots he's ever had, also much more real armour in them. But it's what works for you, try a few pairs on, but do your research about protection, as you said, some are very lacking and you might as well buy a cheap pair of normal boots, hope you find the ones that suit your needs
  5. @S-Westerly hope it all gets sorted in time
  6. @Mississippi Bullfrog it's the law you must have a treat after going to the dentist, enjoy
  7. @Mawsley good you finally got it sorted, bet its really sore, so hope it heals well and quickly
  8. @Throttled good news with MOT, always a happy day with a pass, enjoy another year
  9. Great news Gerontious, looks a great bike for your tour
  10. Hope the MOT goes well Gerontious, you do a job few of us could cope with, well done and enjoy getting back into riding again, you deserve some me time
  11. Thank you RideWithStyles, will do, as always, your advice is spot on, appreciate it
  12. Thanks for taking the time to reply smallfrowne, sounds like a good plan, will try on my ride out Friday evening, my seat is good and solid, should make the bump easier to deal with as the body should cope better with the jolt, appreciate your experience
  13. One of the two villages (2 different councils) has today before all the rain, painted the speed bumps, someone's listening though hope its waterproof, just got to master going over them now, too busy a road to go down the side, this bump has a jutting out lip at the top, that's what unsettled me, any tips from those who are experts?
  14. Not just you David, we have some in two villages either side of us, no markings, just black, you cannot see them and very problematic for motorcycles, nearly came off the other day, as you said straight down the middle seems only way,no problem in car, but unsettling even at slow speeds on bike. People who haven't been through since they changed it even doing 30mph have difficulties due to the fact you can't see them, maybe just a club of two we'll see!!
  15. Looks super tasty husoi, you are very blessed, enjoy the variety and hope the weather stays good
  16. Very impressive, handy skill to have, well done
  17. That look delicious husoi, glad your enjoying your trip, stay safe
  18. Have a great time husoi, think you deserve it!!
  19. Definitely practice defensive driving, not sure if it's just a Suffolk affliction, but drivers pulling out of side roads only look in the opposite direction while still moving forward, don't see you coming as they haven't even looked , so knowing the roads definitely helps and so I always slow down when approaching side roads, I have no desire to be side swiped but be in the right, it may take me longer to get to my destination, but I'm not in a hurry, just want to enjoy riding
  20. Thank you so much Nick and OC for taking the time to answer, will look at the tangs and if needed will order a new one, thanks for the link OC, also for your advise on keeping parts genuine when you can, i want to learn so i very much appreciate your experience, have good evening guys
  21. Seems like it's the speedometer drive unit not turning, there are 3 used ones on ebay apparently clean condition and aftermarket part on Wemto, all look correct parts for my bike, my question is, is it better to take chance on used genuine part or go for new, but aftermarket part? Any experience of Wemto parts being any good? Appreciate your time guys
  22. Brilliant, thank you so much OC, know where to look now, appreciate your time and expertise
  23. coming back from great ride out Friday night and just as I got into my village speedometer just went slowly down to zero, apart from obvious is cable loose, any pointers for me to check please, it is a new this year cable from David Silver spares, so good quality, know its a classic 40 year old bike but would like to know my speed!! thanks for your time
