  1. Lensesforhire.co.uk recommend JCA Couriers in Maidenhead depending on the weight and size of lens (for some it's cheaper to use Royal Mail special). When we hired lenses they delivered and picked up when they promised and at a reasonable price, also didn't look like they'd been playing football with the boxes either. http://www.jcacouriers.co.uk/
  2. nice one. Glad she picked the right biker too.
  3. I can't say i've really noticed it other than when passing lorries, at which point i grip more with my legs and loosen my grip with my hands.
  4. Let us know how you get on. I think i'll get round to doing IAM for the car and ROSPA for the bike, but need to get round to it.
  5. Good luck with your test. Just relax (if you can) I'm sure i failed one of my car tests because of being nervous after the examiner asked me to park in a dumbass place.
  6. Hope you recover quickly. Looks like a scary tumble.
  7. In some order of what i checked on Gayle's bike: Fused, Battery, Starter cirtuit (jumping the starter motor direct from battery, plus volt meter on all switches). eventually fixed by unplugging things a few times and plugging them back in. Hope you fix it quickly.
  8. here is a policy summary from a company i saw recommended elsewhere: http://www.moris.co.uk/Bike-Motor-Sport ... er-summary
  9. I never took out insurance when I did my track day (didn’t know it was available), I maybe wrongly presumed that it was a case of all at your own risk regardless of if someone takes you out, vice versa. I’m pretty sure the info I got before it never suggested it a good idea. Having said that about 8/9 years have passed since then and the accident/claim culture has grown. I just found that MCE do it for “from £99/day” including acidental damage so I guess it depends on how many you do or how much you value your bike. My current one I wouldn’t, but a new one I most likely would.
  10. It's not according to this: http://www.motorcyclemonthly.co.uk/news ... -in-france
  11. At least you could get one! When i broke down outside stirling I had no idea and don;t think there was an a/b road number. Would have been about 15 minutes walk to get somewhere that may have know a postcode (and then not even the right one)!
  12. I think breathalysers is June/July but not 100% sure
  13. only problem with that is that what if the passenger wants to use one?
  14. that really sucks, how did you make it back?
  15. I think the only blackbird we saw was when we were back home in Bonnybridge.
  16. i nearly always nod or wave. unless i don't see them or they're being a dick
  17. CBT, Lessons on 125. Theory, Practical. I could have done my direct access (i think can't remember if i was 21 or if that was the next year) but I wouldn't have done it another way. I had 2 years flying about on a restricted rd350 (much fun) which i could thrash to bits with out getting in trouble and building up my no claims.
