  1. Not usually, but with the indicator problems it's been started up briefly a few times. the ride home from Gayle's work is about 40 minutes so I'd have thought that should have been ok. Ian, it's still got some petrol, even if i had to re-mortgage the flat to fill it! MrBlonde, You may be right, but i've never noticed it slow to start.
  2. I had to collect Gayle from work last week as the bike wouldn't start; testing the battery there it read 10.4 so obviously hadn't been charging. Earlier that week I'd taken readings for the indicator issue and had slightly low readings, but thought they were still ok. Jumped the battery and rode it home where i took readings again and all was fine (i.e. about 13.x at idle and 14.x @ 5.5k). Went to start the bike today and the battery is flat (10.x again). Going through the process here I get (set to 20 ohm scale): Pin 1 to both reds - 1 Pin 1 to both Blacks - 2.71 Pin 2 to both reds - 1 Pin 2 to both Blacks -2.65 Pin 3 to both reds - 1 Pin 3 to both Blacks -2.71 This was taken with the black wire from the multimeter on the 3 pin cable and the red on the 4. swapping reverses the readings. Next test with the 3 pin cable disappearing into the wiring harness: All pins to all others - 0 I'm thinking i've maybe messed up this test as the stator/altenator was erplaced in 2010 and shouldn't have gone yet. I obviously couldn't do the test with the engine on, but once the battery is charged will give it a go. I charged the battery overnight and unplugged it this morning (reads 12.7v) presumably if the charge has dropped in the 12 hours till i get back I'll know the battery is knackered? p.s. just to make sure I've been testing the right things: this is what i was testing: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb305/Edviscostello/DSC00584.jpg These are the wires from it: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb305/Edviscostello/DSC00585.jpg The one on the left is the one i think is to the stator: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb305/Edviscostello/DSC00586.jpg
  3. I have two as well. PM me for the codes.

  5. And revs will have the lovely blade you (she) currently have (has) And Fast Eddie will have the lovely 600 I currently have. You missed a bit!
  6. Another one: Noriyuki Haga http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7120/7442088922_60c3e0fe8d_k.jpg
  7. Thanks Deso, Ohjay. That was taken with a canon 40d and '300mm F4 L IS' seemed to be a prefect length for that spot. Ratser, if those were in the 2nd race you were probably a few meters from us. I'm thinking you missed me due to the camera i was hiding behind a lot of the time!
  8. I always try and park my bike with the weight down hill so in your case i'd be on the side stand and have reversed it in. Theory being it's more likely to fall that way to if it's already leaning that way less chance of harm. The problem in your case is that there is another slope you'd then be facing down. how about parking it as you do at the moment but not so far back? less temptation for people to park in your space but but you can still reverse it against the kerb? regarding difficulty getting it in when the car is there, we have the same on our space (less the slope) and it's a pain but doable to turn them round. also regarding the bike shed, a decent size one may take up nearly the whole space. I'd love one for ours, but it would make it impossible for cars either side to use one door which wouldn't make you popular.
  9. Had a good day at the BSB today. Rain held off and had a pretty good view. Will add more photos as i get time to go through them but here is the first one: Luca Scassa at the hairpin. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8014/7433756430_689b4a4e28_k.jpg Click for large.
  10. Yes, otherwise I wouldn't of made the comment We've obviously just had different ends of the quality scale.
  11. Can't remember the last one. I think it was Barenaked Ladies at the ABC Glasgow, Next one if Hugh Laurie at the Concert Hall.
  12. Sounds like one for me to aim for in a couple of years. Although I still want an early blade or 954 more than a new one. Nice review.
  13. hope you'll be taking the fun roads up to there.
  14. Ours is £10, the theory is about 4 weeks before the practical though. not sure if this is good or bad. Obviously time to practise (if the weather's good). Looking forward to it though. As for police bikers not being all you think they are... I guess everyone to their own... have you ridden with any?
  15. Cheers pointblank. I checked the indicators today and the cases say: Original: R10w 11 12 E11 New: 2v 2.0w H21w 11 12 E11 Looking at a parts site, the OEM triumph bulbs do appear to be 10w and the new ones are 21w I've emailed the seller about this one, but I think this should do the job: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400225499951? ... 1438.l2649 still going to give moving the indicators about again to check.
  16. out and about today it was flashing fast nearly all the time (regardless of revs) so i think it's on the blink. i'm going to pick up a cheap halfords one if i can find it (their site only has 4 & 5 pin listed). they seem cheap enough to just take a chance, as opposed to OEM @ £50
  17. I think i'll try the relay first, When i was riding today they were flashing quickly even at higher revs. at one point though coming to a stop they flashed normally for a while until i put it in neutral.
  18. I've started using 2for1glasses.co.uk so much cheaper than the optician and have had no problems with my current pair. just waiting for my new ones to turn up. Might be worth a look for your next set.
  19. cheers, headlights always on as its a newish bike (06) i guess main beam would have the same effect?
  20. Hmmm. maybe it is the flasher relay. I haven't noticed any other issues with the bike. Reading another thread on a different forum it says voltage at all rpm should be above 13 where as mine is less than that at 5.5k (didn't look any higher up). would this indicate a dodgy charging system or is the other poster being too exacting? Going to have to see if i can pick up something to check. Thanks, Ed
  21. Sadly not. Other than picking up one from triumph on the off chance that it's correct.
  22. So i went out and checked the indicators/battery today. Interesting findings: Volts - State - Indicators 12.4 - Bike off - Off 11.8 - Electrics on - Indicators on Flashing normally 13.1/2 - Bike running @ idle/choke - Off & On. Flashing quickly 12.9 - @5.5k revs - Off & On. Flashing normally The most interesting thing i have learnt in this exercise is that the indicator flashing slows down as revs go up (and volts appear to go down). I'm not sure what this means.
  23. Surely leasing one is only worth while if you're not going over the allowed mileage etc? Also i may be wrong but if leasing is the same as PCP then a loan works out cheaper - at least in the example i saw recently it did.
